So, this is our first year of being fully fledged caravanner's!

We'll be going somewhere nice and local for our first night or two away over the Easter weekend, destination to be confirmed.

I have however booked our main summer holiday, Devon and Cornwall in late July early August.

Staying at the C&CC site at Slapton Sands for 8 nights then 3 nights at Compton Park, Callington.

I'm sure there will be several weekends in between and something in the October half term as well.

Looking forward to it - our 2 girls (1 and 4 years old) are mega excited!

Just got rid of our old camper van and bought a 2005 Elddis Sunseeker 540.

First trip is in a few weeks for my birthday to Kingsbury Water Park, not too far from RAF Cosford so definitely going there during the week.

Then 6 weekends throughout the summer with the Hovercraft Club of GB at their race meetings.

Trying to find somewhere for the first 2 weeks of June. Here is looking favourite at the moment. http://www.porthbeach.co.uk/holiday-park/

May try somewhere later in the year, after school hols as well.

Just collected our first caravan last weekend. (1995 Elddis Hurricane XLi for those intrested @ £1495, ts in great condition and have just grabbed a Sunncamp 260 porch awning for it off my dad works intranet for £40 with breathable flooring biggrin)

First trip will be in a few weeks locally (somewhere near Nottingham) then probably towards the east coast in May to an adults only site we camped at with the tent last year.

Then driving my mate and I down to Le Mans (Tues-Mon) then dropping said mate off at Tours airport and collecting the wife off the incoming flight and heading to D'Oleron (La Rochelle)Staying here weather permitting!! If not Nice/Monaco area, Basically wherever the sun is shining!!

We are hoping to get away at least once a month with the caravan and it is also doubling up as a summer house in the garden so is going to see a good bit of use biggrin

If your going to Slapton C&CC (which is a nice site BTW) make sure you go via Kingsbridge to Torcross don't follow your sat nav across you'll get stuck.

If you get chance before you go, read about operation/exercise Tiger, Ken Smalls book if possible, it'll give you a different perspective on that 3 mile of beach.

I'm in Lincolnshire so we go to the east coast mostly, Sutton on Sea CC site is a favourite.

Short bike ride to Sandilands beach which never gets crowded and decent chippy and Spa in S on S.

Booked 2 long weekends there in May and also booked Clumber for a long weekend just before easter.

A big group of us are going for a weekend in Woodhall Spa as well, 8 tents + 3 caravans.

May also book for the summer at some point but we are generally last minute bookers.

Right, first 2 night trip planned for next weekend just keeping it local (is 3 miles away close enough in case disaster strikes?! hehe )

Going to the Fairlight Wood CC site. http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/caravanclubapps/appli...

Have also booked up a 3 night stay at Longleat CC site during the October half term - the kids will love that. http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/caravanclubapps/appli...

3 miles ! hehe I though I was playing it safe at 20 miles.
At 3 miles my wife would be going home to use the loo and shower... seriously...

Anyway, doesn't matter 3 miles or 300 miles, my 5 year old loves it, and that is all that matters.

Scarborough CC site (20 miles) this weekend.

Then a week'n bit at Golden Square, Helmsley, North Yorkshire

Mallorca in July (not in Bradley "Wiggins" the caravan I hasten to add)

Another week at Grange over Sands CC site in August.

Just pondering if we can fit a week in Brittany in as well (pennies permitting)

I know, at least we won't have any 'are we there yet?' comments from the eldest (who is 4 and a half) hehe

Can't wait to try out the new Cadac BBQ smile

Cadac's are awesome biggrin

First trip was a couple of weeks ago, Todmorden Cricket Club (which was really nice!), then Windermere (great, too).

Off to Bagnol on Anglesey for late May Bank Holiday, and Polzeath in Cornwall in August!

Trying to decide where to go this year, pondered Devon or Cornwall but the inlaws might be joining us in their motorcaravan and its a bit far for them to drive these days.

Last couple f years been to Norfolk and the CCC West Runton site, pondering Dorset and maybe Merley Court.

"Are we nearly there yet?" oh yes, five hours of it on flight to Cyprus last week.
Maybe Brittany might be a bit far tugging Bradley...

Oh, and even if not strictly BBQ weather, the Cadac does a mean fried breakfast. burger

Enjoy the long weekend everyone smile

Fairlight wood was the first site we went to when we got our caravan (last year), although it is further than 3 miles for us. Very nice site and the warden was friendly and helped me reverse the caravan onto the pitch as it was the first time doing so.
You should enjoy it there.

Yeah, we know it quite well anyway as we are both local to the village and walk the dog there a lot!
