Looking at a possible 2005 Volvo S60 D5 (Diesel)

But how to know which D5 it has, as there seems to be several.

D5244T = 163 ps
D5244T2 = 130 ps
D5244T4 = 185 ps

I know almost nothing about any Volvo's

Fantastic, Great information.

I will take special note about the naughty sellers.

So, if the engine covers have been swapped, to make it look like a more desirable, [185] is there any other checks I should consider?

Also I am interested to learn more about the swirl flaps, as I have heard this mentioned on other "non-Volvo " vehicles.

DPF is some thing I guess we are all going to have to live with, but that's another debate.

Can you point me to a forum that can advise me more on Volvo S60 D5 and the weaknesses of the S60 in general?

Thanks

vette

They wont swap the engine cover, what I meant is that there is no outward difference (save the badge on the rear) between the e4 163 and 185 bhp engine.

So if its a euro 4, make sure you are actually getting a D5 and not a rebadged 2.4D

The Volvoforums.org.uk are a gold mine of info.

If you open up the drivers door you will see a plaque stating what model and if memory serves me correct the PSis also stated.
