War with Russia
Discussion
I thought Russia said we were a small, irrelevant little island whom nobody listens to?

Do you think that the government in Ukraine was overthrown in a violent, Western-backed putsch, and the new government in Kyiv is dominated by far-right radicals? Do you suspect that the downing of MH17 was orchestrated by a Kyiv "junta" to garner support for military intervention in Ukraine by the West? Do You think that there has been no armed intervention by the Kremlin in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, with tanks and mercenaries and regular units of the Russian army, and that the war is a purely domestic Ukrainian affair? Do you think that the volunteer battalions fighting on the behalf of the Kyiv government are, to a man, neo-Nazi fascists, hell-bent on subjugating the people of eastern Ukraine, and forcing them to speak Ukrainian rather than Russian?
Then you've been hoodwinked by Kremlin propaganda.
Don't feel too ashamed though: you've been misled by the most sophisticated propaganda machine that the world has ever seen - one that attacks, undermines and emasculates a key source of information that you may rely on: the Western media. As a small part of that media, I'm partly to blame for your being misled, so I owe it to you to explain as best I can how this happened.
The Kremlin propagandists have achieved this propaganda coup in three ways...
Fits like a glove on some of our anti-western friends who indulge in their US/UK/Euro bashing hobby while enjoying the freedoms and riches they provide Then you've been hoodwinked by Kremlin propaganda.

How Russia Defeated Western Journalism
You might be surprised how biased the reporting you believe as the truth, actually is, and has been for a very long time. The main stream media, be that Russian, UK, USA, Israeli or Hamas etc. are the same beast serving different masters.
Have you forgotten the "Iraqi WMDs" or the "Al Qaeda links to Saddam Hussein" message we were force feed before the invasion of Iraq? Or the "protecting civilians" script before bombing Libya back 100 years and destroying the country? Or the "Assad is the Antichrist, the Syrian freedom fighters are our allies" ? notice a pattern ?
The war they do not want you to see

Congratulations, you win the PH Whataboutery prize of the day.
Compare the degree of skepticism with which we in the west see our own media against Putin's approval ratings. And the freedom our journalists have to call it bull without fear of being murdered on their front door. And the tell us if there is really an equivalence.

BBC team under attack in southern Russia
A BBC team has been attacked in the southern Russian city of Astrakhan. They had gone to investigate reports of Russian servicemen being killed near the border with Ukraine.
The team's cameraman was beaten up and the camera smashed during the attack. The recorded material left in the car had been deleted, the team found after returning from the police station.
The BBC has lodged a formal protest with Russia over the incident and called for an investigation. The authorities in Astrakhan have launched a criminal case into the attack, Russia's Interfax news agency reports.
Memory cards wiped
The team had just left a cafe in the town when at least three aggressive individuals approached our car, confronting and attacking us, says BBC Moscow correspondent Steve Rosenberg. Using physical violence the men grabbed the camera, smashed it on the road, and then escaped with it in a getaway car. During the scuffle the BBC cameraman was knocked to the ground and beaten.
The team is now safe and back in Moscow. Following the attack, the team spent more than four hours being questioned at a local police station. During that time, the recording equipment left behind in the car was tampered with, our correspondent says. The hard drive of the main computer as well as several memory cards with video material had been wiped clean.

You really are a quite special. Perhaps I should type in very small easily digested words for you to understand. List of journalists killed in Russia
It is not about journalists being killed, it is about the main stream media doing the bidding of the required masters, be that state or private masters, either overt or subtle bias. It is not about Russian or American or UK or Iranian or Chinese or Israeli media. RT is no better than Fox news or Sky or Canal+ or RTI.
The BBC is not a paragon of unbiased reporting either, while better than those mentioned above, what and how it is reported and more importantly what is not reported, has a institutional and often governmental bias.
Did you watch the documentary ? Again the answer is an unequivocal NO

Seems you are really struggling with the concept of false equivalence. I could post some educational links but trust you can google it yourself if you want to overcome it.
