IT'S ALTON TO FARNHAM, WITH AN 'N'.
THIS ROAD IS DISGUSTING. NEVER EVER DRIVE DOWN IT AT HIGH SPEEDS AT IT IS NARROW, BUMPY, FROM BEGINING TO END, FULL OF LORRIES, PIGS ALL OVER WITH SPEED TRAPS AND I KNOW OF SEVERAL PEOPLE KILLING THEM SELVES ON THIS ROAD.

DO NOT CANE IT ON THIS ROAD YOU WILL EITHER GET BUSTED, SMACKED OR FLY INTO A TREE.

I dont know what kind of drugs the bloke who wrote this is on but don't take them. he is obviously a young geezer with more brains than sence.

Farnham and Fareham are both towns in Hampshire.

I know this road well. It is busy and attracts dumpties...not at all fun

Maybe OK for bikers if they can find a quiet moment

My advice is potter along it if you have to, otherwise stay away

Farnham is in Surrey,Fareham is in Hamphire!
A31 runs from Alton to Farnham and is dual carriagway, A32 Fareham to Alton and is a country A road.

The thread was for the A32 ALTON TO FAREHAM .... Sorry for any confusion. Yes it can get busy in the rush hour but compared to a lot of roads in the south it is quiet!

As sb930turbo said Farnham is in Surrey (I and him live there) and the A31 is a crud road to Alton, a friend of mine was killed there a while back.

The best road IMHO in the Alton area is the A339 from Alton to Basingstoke or vica versa, if your coming from the M3 (Basingstoke) leave on Junction 6 and follow the signs to Alton.

It's a nice A-road but do it in the dry, Decent straights, chicanes, double apex corners but take it easy as there are corners that tighten unexpectedly.

And DON'T speed, it's notorious for bike accidents and the police take a dim view of speeding around there.

You have been warned!!!

The A32 is also a nice road but I've only been down there once on a bike with my brother in law while he was getting used to his new Thundercat.

I know Farnham is in Surrey and the only reason I mentioned the A31 when recommending the A32 is because that is where this stretch of road starts ...... At the roundabout on the A31 just outside Alton! FAREHAM is in Hampshire, sits between Southampton and Portsmouth and the A32 goes there!

Have to agree about the A339 between Basingstoke and Alton! Great road, Hadn't driven it for a while. Then got the chance a couple of weeks back, now its been re-surfaced for a fair bit of it makes it even better.

Not sure what direction this thread started in or where it's going .
However, the A32 out of Fareham up to Alton is a stonking road, a bit rough in some places (what roads aren't?) combined with a blat up the A339 from Alton to Basingstoke is one of the reasons I go to the Basingstoke meets if you need an excuse that is (sorry Don ).
A top road with bikers, if you turn off the A32 at West Meon up the A272 to Petersfield and back up the A3 then A31 you have a very nice circular tour.
Now what did I say about the direction this thread was going .

HarryW - It started by me recommending the A32 in the 'Drivers Road' section on the home page ... Down the list on the left! Glad to here some body else likes the road.
