Sierra 5.7 V8 Swap
Discussion
Hello. Myself and a couple of friends have a good 'ol sierra sapphire which has updated suspension, brakes and is overall a very solid car. Our intention is to drop a faster engine into it on the cheap and another friend has offered us a 70's chevy blazer with a 350 small block in it which we would love to drop into our humble sierra. Has anyone done or heard of this conversion being done as I am currently struggling to find out the best manual gearbox option for this engine. I don't know if you can just get a conversion kit for a T5.
GM engine in a Ford... I'm appalled!
They did do a V8 Sierra but with a mustang engine. see here: http://www.sierra-xr8.co.uk/about_the_XR8/about_th...

T5 is used in TVR Cerbera & is OK with that power.
Cossie, TVR Chim and Cerbera boxes are different due to the input shaft. I'm pretty sure the Chim and Cossie use a 10 tooth, similar to Mustangs and the later Cerbera and T cars use the 23 spline. It's also used in a 300ZX but the ratios are different and I think the output shaft differs.
