A mate of mine has a K20 powered track car with Hondata Kpro ECU. He has a generic map on it but wants it properly mapping on a rolling road. He has spoken to TDI North but wasn't impressed with what they had to say or their prices. Quoted £650 + VAT

Any one recommend someone good?

Prefer close to the North West.

TDi North are (arguably) the best mappers for the K20 engine. I personally wouldn't take mine anywhere else and I live in the South West.

Tell your mate to stop being a cheapskate and get it done properly. The money you'll save by getting it done elsewhere you'll spend on fuel getting there anyway.

Thanks

I have read a lot of good things about TDi. Trouble is when my mate spoke to them about what he wanted doing he had no confidence in what the person he spoke to was saying.

From what I understand he was told £350 + vat to strap it down and do a diagnostic run. From there it was an hourly rate.

Perhaps he didn't speak to the right person.

A bit of a trip, but Romain @ Eurospec in Surrey has a great reputation!

Tdi North's rollers are extremely generous if you know what I mean..

That sounds like standard practice for a non-generic map. If your mate is expecting a cheap and cheerful map tailored to his car exactly he'll be in for a shock. Sitting with a tuner means you can get the car to drive the way you want it, not just a generic map with loads of things set to 11 to get "BIG POWAH FIGURS"!

their dyno isnt accurate at all as it has no corrections but it is used to measure a before and after on the same day which is all you need to do a map.

take it to TDI north. as has been said, they are the go to place for k20 powered cars.

I read this morning something about ES using too much ignition to get power.

Whatever the fk that means.
