Ok my roof wont work with the center console button. When I unlatch the roof pull it back I get the beep. When I operate the console switch I just get the beeps,no movement roof or seats. It does work with the emergency switch at the rear though.I have to move the seats forward with the console switches.I did look at the hydraulic fluid for the roof and its well below min.In fact its almost empty.Could this be the problem or more likely the seat pots.Thanks.

If the hydraulic fluid is below minimum then that would be the logical place to start, top the fluid up and I think you'll find this solves the problem

Yep I,m on it.Ordered some merc fluid.Just can,t understand why if it was due to low fluid it still works via the emergency switch. Can,t see any sensors around the fluid bottle to detect low fluid.Need to know if the pots are the cause so I can order some. Thanks

You\ll need to bleed the roof if the level has dropped too far. I don;t think the level is checked as part of the operation.

If you're getting multiple beeps and the seats are not moving then check the engine cover, front bonnet and doors are properly closed and test the switches that confirm closure are working, next would be one of the seat potentiometers

Likely a seat pontentiometer has failed.

I would bleed the whole system - removing the old fluid and replacing with fresh up to the correct level.

Its a fiddly task and best done with 2 but if your electrics are all ok the roof will respond like new afterwards. Well mine did anyway!

Bugger.I topped up the fluid today to the max line only to find the center console switch still won,t operate the roof.Just more damn beeps and no roof seat movement.Might try the full bleeding palava before I order some seat pots.

You need to have both pots synchronised before the roof will work. It's worth paying a garage with an SD1 or SD2 to check before you pay out for pots, they may just need resetting. Even if it needs a pot you will have to have it desynchronised afterwards..
