Does anyone know how close I can get to Didcot Power Station, with a car? Is it closed down now? Is there anyone I could speak to to get access for a photo shoot? Long shot I know but worth a try...

depends what you mean by close, there are perimeter roads around it that get you 75meters away in a car, but would imagine you need to contact the station direct to get in any closer. You can get closer on foot, I've cycled around them. 3 out of the 6 towers are in the process of being decommissioned, but I think the others are still in operation so should be someone about.

Half of it is due to be pulled down this year - should be a good sight.

Thanks for this. I'd like to get a car in the grounds for a shoot, but am not very hopeful. I'll give it a go and see what happens. Cheers

does it have towers? Are they likely to be blown up?

Anyone know the date? Google tells me it was going to be revealed in Jan... but I cannot see anymore than that.

Me too!
A fellow PH'er arranged for me to watch from the roof of a building 850 metres away. Will post a pic up later.
Further to this, got a tweet from the MD of the demolition contractors yesterday, more likely to be 2016 now frown
