Yes. Nothing special about CSL wings so they rust just the same as a normal E46. Happily front wings are bolt off / bolt on. I've just put new BMW wings on as part of a winter refurbishment. Some may sniff at the car now not being "original" but would they rather have rusty wings? Doubt it.
The CSL wings and quarter panels are different to 'Normal' M3's in the sense that the arches are rolled on CSL's. Not sure if this makes them less likely to rust, obviously not since you've had to replaced yours. Edited by GregorFuk on Wednesday 29th April 14:28

There are only 2 CSLs for sale.
One is £52500, the other is £80000. That makes the average price what £66250?
The days of a £30k CSL are gone.
Edited to add there is also one on car and classic but it's lhd and on French plates. That is £59500.
I think the 60-90k mile cars, if any come available will be listing for £42500+ going forward and slowly moving up as each one sells, moving the benchmark higher.

Let's wait and see, there is so little supply that it's really difficult to say what a reasonable mileage CSL "should" be. I think £42k is pushing it a bit though.billyboysm3 said:
Im with shimmy, high demand, all good ones have been in good homes for 4+ years. I thought id accept £50k for mine but within a couple of years they will be at retail price.
What else can you buy for £50k that is this much fun?
Sadly it's not the fun factor that is pushing values higher it's the investment element. What else can you buy for £50k that is this much fun?
Prestige badge - check
Nurburgring potential - check
Lightweight - check
Low numbers - check
Reputation as one of the best m cars ever
Made in low numbers
Trick bits eg carbon roof, boot floor etc
It's following in the footsteps of the GT3
I hope people still drive and enjoy them.

I've been thinking about selling and it's very difficult to put a value on it at the moment. There's so little (no) market evidence.johnnywb said:

Well seeing how quickly a private 61k mile example just sold for at £36.5k (advertised at 3pm yesterday, sold this morning) I would say it was probably undervalued at that priceAnd as keeps getting mentioned, what do you replace it with at that money?

Seems like it was probably worth a fair bit more than that then! I think my mileage will always be a factor but if values keep rising like this I'm going to start worrying about using it
Don't worry about it, mines on 92k now & i'll add another 2k to that at the end of the month.Enjoy it, you could be gone tomorrow.

You know what they say... not driving your car to keep up its value is like not having sex with your girlfriend to keep her fresh for the next guy. It's even more applicable the more your car is worth
It seems as though CSL prices are really starting to make that long-overdue move upwards then...?
The CSL --> GT3 Gap was getting a bit silly.
Completely agree with comments about mileage being less important as compared with condition and history as these cars pass the 12 year-old point as they will begin to do this year....
Look at 993 Turbos / F Dinos / Sport Evos !!
The 61K miler selling in less than 24 hours; WOW - not saying it wasn't worth "that" as clearly it was.
I guess my point is how much more WAS it worth.
Definitely holding on to mine now - 50-70K milers north of £40K by next spring. 30-50K milers £50K+ at the same time.

You make good points, but as we all know - price goes up, use goes downThe CSL --> GT3 Gap was getting a bit silly.
