Banger racing

I watched banger racing at Bovingdon a few years ago and I fancy going to watch it again. It seems Bovingdon closed a few years ago, is there another track other than the M25 localish?

It's not really that close to you but I used to watch banger racing at the Wimbledon Contract Stadium some Friday nights. Was always a good laugh but definitely a bit rough around the edges.

I used to go to Bovingdon all the time, didn't realise it closed ... Funniest one was banger+caravan racing....

Yep, I remember seeing that. I don't know if I'm imagining it but I seem to remember Reliant Robins too.

Just seen some banger racing at Spedeworth on Motors TV, they had a 'Micro Madness' race with superminis, most cars were a K11 Micra and there were a few mk1 Ford Ka. The Ka looks really weird without the plastic bumpers and arches and the skinny wheels sticking out at the back. Doesn't seem a great idea to use it as a banger racer when it's nearly an open wheel car

Aldershot raceway. They also do V8 stock cars which I want to see. Its an oval track and theres some go carting in the morning for a bit, then onto micras, then busses/lorries smashing into each other. bring sun glasses, youll get peppered with rubber.

They also do Mr Whippy ice cream too so budget that in.

I believe it is every Sunday during the summer months at Aldershot Rushmoore Arena - I have been meaning to go for years as I am in Fleet, I may try and make it this weekend

I can hear them from my house sometimes and it sounds like a LOT of fun!!

Looks like the next event is 30 August and includes a "retro drift spectacular" and 4x4 bangers!!! Sounds like great fun, think I will try and make it
