Kind of, other than maybe I prefer to take the N260A from Biescas to the N260 then north to Vielha, its more demanding to drive than the route into Luchon you are showing (I prefer that part going back west, than going east).
Later follow the N260 to Puigcerda and then the N116 to Perpignan is my favoured route, it can get busy but not usually until late July.
So, is this the route? I still wasn't sure as the N260 didn't appear to go to Vielha.Later follow the N260 to Puigcerda and then the N116 to Perpignan is my favoured route, it can get busy but not usually until late July.

The route into Vielha is pretty damn amazing, you basically come out of a very long (thankfully now, modern) tunnel and can see Vielha way below you. Watch out for the narrow road into the town and the lorries though.
We stayed in Biescas during our trip last September. The Hotel was Tierra de Biescas http://www.hoteltierradebiescas.com/?lang=en , very nice hotel with excellent food.

Bump for a Pyrenees trip should anyone else want to join.

The plan is for a 9-14 day trip starting on or just after the 23rd June.
At the moment there are a couple of us planning to go.

Sounds like a great road trip !
What cars will you be driving?
What costs are you looking at?
Please make sure you post up lots of pics when back.
Would love to do something like this again ( done similar on bikes years ago) but will have make do with yet another nurburgring trip next month ...my 44th trip.

Just got back from Wales. Weather not great but some roads were. Looking forward to the Pyrenees trip in June now.
My 993 is in for major suspension work, hopefully getting her back tomorrow. The plan is to set off early Saturday morning for the PCGB track day on Anglesey. Great roads from East Worcestershire to there and back. Around 9 hours driving across the Welsh mountains etc. Should hopefully be a nice warm up for Spain in early July.

Oh, that raises a practical question, what petrol options are there in this part of the world? Too much to ask for V Power in Spain perhaps as the Shell website doesn't show any Spanish outlets, but what about France?
I've investigated this before our trip and there seems to be quite a few Repsol stations in the Spanish Pyrenees with high RON fuel. I've always found France very hit and miss off the motorways. Most small villages in France have petrol stations that look like they haven't changed since the 1940's!CarbonXKR said:
Thinking of a similar trip at some stage so I hope you don't mind joining in this thread. Current plan would be ferry down to Bilbao instead of driving down through France.
If anyone has specific accommodation recommendations that would be great. Looking to find one or two nights in something characterful. Could be anything from a castle to a spa.
Probably returning a bit further east to accommodate https://goo.gl/maps/bnlJH as apparently the Route Napoléon is worth a look.

Like ships in the night; looked at this and the other thread and it seems we'll be missing out by up to a couple of weeks.
Will have to catch up after and compare notes.
For sure. Have decided to take the oh. I'm in the process of maybe changing the route. Undecided on whether to zig zag the Pyrenees. Spanish one way and French back or to continue on to Gorge du Verdon, Route de Napoleon, etc, etc. Will have to catch up after and compare notes.
Might be interested in something UK based in August if you're interested.

I've just come back from Spain and the Pyrenees and 98 RON is available everywhere, had no problems. Its £1.09 ltr in tax-free AndorraCarbon Based said:

Agree the N260 is a must do road on your trip
Was staying there last Tuesday and agree its a lovely hotel, very quiet as its off season in summer. They do have a car park round the back but I left my car on the road outside which I could see from my room.Agree the N260 is a must do road on your trip
Also had a dip in the small inside pool. Then set off eastwards along the N260 which was a bit tighter and slower than I was expecting for the first hour
I have traveled down the first leg of the route many times. now i set my tomtom to avoid toll routes, and it hardly adds any time to the route. one thing i would say is keep an eye out for the French police, they are very strict on speeding, i got caught once, 500 euro on the spot fine and could have had the car confiscated, only four hours into a 2 week trip.
they use laser equipment and are very sneaky, hiding in fields behind building etc there not there as a deterrent their out to catch you.
its best to find a German or Belgian who is speeding and follow at a safe distance.
but i find 85mph is a nice speed to drive at, then when you get off the main road just keep your eyes open, there are some fantastic roads over there , and you can play spot the pot hole although it can get boring as there aren't any!
