So i have this chassis but no history. Is there any way i can identify which car it came from, whether it can have an identity or not? I Would be interested in rebuilding it and if i could relate it to an original car that would be a bonus and make it more worthwhile doing, back to its original colours etc?

All i know is that a french chap bought the body/chassis in order to re-use the body tub from it to repair his racer.
Someone has at some point attempted to convert it to two seater by adding a roll hoop, harness mounts and seat bars.
I cannot see any identifying marks on it, are they hidden or just not there?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks, Phil.

Looks like a Tuscan Challenge chassis with AJP engine mounts.

They don't have chassis numbers, many Tuscans were rechassised for various reasons. Best chance you have is to go back from the previous owners.

That's not entirely true Andy - see this thread:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Mine now has a chassis# following a chat with JR regarding year of build etc. - it was needed for insurance too as they wanted some type of identifying mark (No.88 wasn't sufficient hehe) biggrin

JR started the chassis nos when he took over.

the early cars didn't have them

any stamped chassis were done later as it was on the pedal box iirc.

mine had a number, but it was added to the chassis later

That's right Andy - behind the pedal box cover on the bulkhead . . . unless of course its been converted to floor mounted (as mine has!) biggrin
