I spotted this the other evening. Looked beautiful. Very rare if it is a genuine Alpina I guess

It's in one of my dad's barns, all tucked up. Just renewed tax, MOT and ins and he'll give it a decent run every 2-3 months.

Any badges on the bootlid?

Yes it had an Alpina badge on the bootlid. I was in traffic driving my wifes Alpina E46 B3S cab at the time. So it had to be a quick iphone snapshot and a quick squint at the rear. The wife liked the look of it as well smile

Don't believe those are genuine alpina wheels (should be 20 spoke? ) not conclusive however

Very nice

I notice the general enthusiasm for these cars too - much more than I receive in my 911

Good eyes - they are only 19 so definitely not genuine Alpina wheels. There are some 20 spoke replicas about but there are no 19 spoke genuine Alpina wheels. I doubt the car is a genuine E24 Alpina if its riding on replicas - unless they're a winter set?

This is my little baby that got me into trouble this year with too much speed - Whoops.

Great car and really underrated imo.

Shes a 645ci manual with a re-map.

They also don't have nearly enough dish on them to be Alpina's. Probably 7x17 rather than Alpina 8.5x17.

There's very little dish on any genuine Alpina Softlines, from 17 through to 20, but the original Classics and new Classics (withthe crinkle cut caps) have a good deep straight dish to them.

Is that 333 as standard? What is it with the re-map? The manual makes it pretty rare I would guess.

Can anyone on here comment on the refinement of the E63 6 series compared the 7?

Ive been in an E63 M6 before but wasn't really concentrating on its refinement hehe

I really want a GT next smile
Hi Ross,
I went from an E38 740i to a 2005 650. The seven was a little more refined and I believe that E65 is another step up in refinement. Having said that the trip to work is 240 miles and I find the 650 perfect for that. I find the sport seats in the 6 superb. The only thing I am not keen on is small tank (15 gallons Vs 22 in the 7), and I found the steering wheel uncomfortable until I had it recovered with extra padding @ Royal steering wheels thumbup
I get a lot of nice comments from people and so far it wears it's mileage very well @ 110k. You commented on the colour, it took 6 months to find a blue / cream one with the correct spec. I do have a spreadsheet with all the available options if you want it, drop me a line. Cheers!

Interesting thanks. I've had an E38 and now have an E65 and the later car is definitely a step up.
