Me too, and I'm sure the pitch I've asked for is the one I'll get.

Comment I received from the ACO today (15/10/14).

"We will lose a certain number of places in Maison Blanche due to the future Porsche building but we don’t know yet exactly."

Sounds encouraging.

OK, I know I shouldn't worry but I'm starting to worry...

A model of the centre was displayed at the Paris motor show and it looks huge!

Grrrr - sorry you're in the wars, but thanks for the heads up - can I ask you is that from ACO, or via an agent (if it's via an agent I may need to put a call into mine). Thanks in anticipation.

Was via Select Motor Racing who i've booked camping and tickets through a few times (and are very good).

Not their fault i guess, i've now requested camping at Le Houx as an alternative - it seems to get good reviews and is still pretty central...

What is this? A Porsche Experience Center for ants? it needs to be at least 3 times bigger!

OK - many thanks - I'll check with our chap. If he's any availability or if he's operating a waiting list I can let you know.

Thanks again.

This is a photo taken from today's paper. I phoned to see if I could go up and take photos but was told that it is all fenced off. However, as you can see from the plan underneath, the centre is between the Maison Blanche circuit and the Bugatti circuit, which is slap bang in the middle of Maison Blanche camping.

Its definitely going to have an impact frown

Email received from Brian @ 1st Tickets states that the ACO are "obliged to initially cancel about 300 pitches until we know if we are able to use some of rehabilitated areas." which represents ~30-35% of MB spaces.

We will know more at the end of November once the ACO has confirmed the ticket allocations - Our group has everything crossed that it is minimal impact to our booking. Been every year since 2003 - could be a sabbatical year weeping

From that plan it looks more like the centre is where the big wheel goes during the 24hrs or around the open area on the way to the camping section. Where they have support pits and some of the hospitality tents.

I'm taking DS240's optimistic view. Certainly appears to be situated close to the Maison Blanche main entrance rather than over the camp site. However I am sure there will will large security areas around the site which will impact on some pitches in case they have the idiots close by setting fire to the tyres etc on Sunday nights....
I've been in this site every year since 1986 bar 3 .....will be a sad day if I'm not this year

Looks to me that the buildings will be where the current driving centre/school and hospitality units are, hopefully leaving the majority of MB campsite safe.

I went past today and was shocked since originally it was supposed to be on the inside of the circuit, so the Karting side, but it is right next to the road. I'm not very good on this part of the circuit but it must be around the Ford chicane area, but anyway here is the first photo, looking from the end of Maison Blanche camping at the Motul stand alongside.

Now you can see I am standing roadside, and the next picture is from the same spot turning right.

In the background of this photo you can see the shower and toilet block just left as you enter Maison Blanche camping. It appears to me that they have taken one hell of a big chunk of the site away.
