An old friend is in danger of buying a Bentley S3 and thinks it might be a bit specialised for AA or RAC inspectors.

He lives in Sussex and is looking fairly locally.

Any help gratefully received.

Not a recommendation as such as I have never used him, though I have met Brian on numerous occasions over the years and he certainly seems to know his stuff. I'd ring him if I was being as brave as your mate!

Not in Sussex, but near Boxhill in Surrey are these people. May not be too far to travel depending where in Sussex your friend/the car is based.

It's fair to say I've never darkened their doorstep, just pass their premises when heading out for a drive in the country.

Goudhurst Service Station? The Sargeants are well established in RR/Bentley's and not far off the Sussex border.

Thanks so much, everyone. My friend - one of my first bosses as it happens - has gone with Brian of Classic Assessments and will call him later to arrange a visit.

The car looks fabulous, so I'm optimistic.

I'll keep you posted.

He's been and gone and done it. He went with Brian, was very pleased with the assessment, and picked it up on Saturday.

He brought it into work today and we had a ride back to the office in it.

Many thanks to one and all.
