Does anyone else agree that the layout of this roundabout is a bit shoddy. If you come off at Junction 2 travelling anticlockwise, and want to go onto the A2 the road markings place you in the outer right lane. However, the vast majority of people seem to stay in the middle lane, but don't move across to the left just past the turn-off to Dartford. This puts those of us who have placed ourselves correctly having to merge in unnecessarily.
Anyone know what I'm talking about!?

Know this very well...problem shouldn't buy I just go in either the right hand lane or centre (whichever has the least traffic) as I know that it makes no odds come the end of the dartford turning.

Just been round this again today. It should work fine, if the people in the middle lane went off up the A225 as they are supposed to instead, instead they carry on round to the right and mostly stay in the right lane of the two that go off down to the a2 causing those in the correct lane to be left high and dry in the M25 lane and have to merge in or boot it and squeeze in on the A2 slip. Classic bit of poor road design which leads to hostility.

9 out of 10 times when I use junction correctly there is people using it incorrectly causing many near misses. (annoyingly they often think they are in the right somehow) It does state that you need to be in the right hand lane to join the A2 coast bound I don't know why people cant grasp it.

The problem is that the traffic for the A2 is far higher than that for dartford, they should make the RH lane feed to the outside lane of the A2 entry slip and the middle lane for both the A2 (NS lane of entry) and Dartford.

It has to be that way as the traffic wouldn't allow it, the RH lane would back up into the M25 far more frequently.

This is especially the case as the NB A2 has its own feeder lane and there are 3 lanes at the bottom lights.

When travelling anti-clockwise on the M25, the only place where the gantry and road markings indicate the right hand lane for the A2 eastbound is at the bottom of the off ramp. At the next gantry/lights A2 traffic should be in lane 3 (of 4). After that the road markings make it quite clear which lane to be in. The crunch comes here where lanes 1 & 2 can, according to the road markings, both be used by A2 eastbound traffic. However, the on ramp very soon narrows from two lanes to one thus causing a pinch point. Unless people are sensible and merge in turn that's where it gets messy.

I live very close to J2. I can usually predict who the muppets will be that don't have a clue about following lane markings, so I seldom have any problems.

They should put those "idiot proof" white lane markings across that first area past the first set of traffic lights to try and guide people into the correct lane. I always find the merge in turn on the sliproad works fairly smoothly, it's everything before hand that seems to cause issues!

True. It starts here where three lanes become four. I'm not convinced though that "idiot proof" lane markings will help due to the joining A2 eastbound off ramp merging at that point. A2 traffic is in the right hand lane at the lights and should then be in lane 3 at the following gantry. The road markings are secondary and can easily be obscured when traffic is heavy. The gantry sign tells those who can be bothered to look what they need to know.

I negotiate this route every day on my way home and it's hugely annoying.

I place myself correctly in the right hand lane, then as we pass the lights, I maintain my position so that I stay in the A2 lane whilst the lane to follow around to the M25 south opens up on my right.

Yet I don't think I've been a single week where I haven't been cut up by some ****wit who sits in the left lane for Dartford, tries to cut me up because they want to go on the A2, then start hollering and swearing at ME because I was in the correct lane and maintained my position.

I once had guy lay on his horn at me then attempt to run me off the road further round the roundabout because I didn't yield when he tried to cut in from the left. I just smiled and stuck a middle finger up.
