Supercars spotted, some rarities (vol 6)
Discussion
Went to Puerto Banus yesterday. Looks like the economy situation in Spain has really hit that place hard. Complete lack of anything interesting whatsoever, less people about and not many big yachts either.
Saw two 458's (a coupe and a spider)
A British 997.1 GT3 RS in orange
Gallardo Spider
California
That was it. Very disappointing although perhaps too early for the major supercars? I don't even know if people go there anymore? Do the Arab lot or do they just trundle between London and Monaco?

I watched 'The Hit' recently. As commented before...
"The Hit. A fine, fine, film. The scene where John Hurt makes his way through the forest to find Terence Stamp, who's just lost in thought staring at the waterfall. Art."
Anyway, feeling parched I wandered into the nearest Waitrose to get some refreshments. As I made my way to the counter, motioned forward by Stacie's winning smile, a slim, stooped man in white shirt and shorts barged past to the till.
Stacie: "Sorry sir, but this gentleman is first..."
Older gent, passively aggressing at the floor: "Oh bloody hell!"
Upon recognising the older gent as famous septuagenarian Terence Stamp, when he turned to me, whilst the naughty devil on my left shoulder (jabbing away with a little three pronged fork) was urging me to blurt out 'Revenge! We will kill the son of our jailer! Kneel before Zod!'....the pleasant angel (strumming a harp, with halo) actually said, "..no please, after you..."
Mr Stamp rejected the offer, grumbled and went to the back of the queue. And as he did, the chroma key abilities of my imagination just couldn't reconcile this smouldering, slight pensioner next to me, with the Sir Larry Wildman of 'Wall Street' or Supreme Chancellor Valorum ('The Phantom Menance'), or indeed, as the eponymous Billy Bud, of my celluloid memories.
You just can't beat the sands of time. Age transforms everything, but some things just withstand the abrasive effects better than others and even transcend the years. Christie Brinkley at 60 still outshines her daughter on a red carpet, and next to pretty much anything else, a Countach will still pull the greater crowd.
Surely it's down to just how iconoclastic the Lamborghini was on launch, shredding decades of styling conceits. A Bizzarinni will just look like an old classic to most people. An early 80's Vantage, just a handsome gentleman's express. But a Countach still coruscates regardless of what else is nearby.
This looks to be a 1928/9 Salmson Race Car. Salmson, from my understanding, were a company who produced their own cars in the UK after importing from the original French manufacturer became uneconomic due to the changing exchange rate. The subsequent Second World War saw an end to manufacturing, partly because the company turned it's focus towards aviation. I'd guess there can't be many left in such good condition, but please refer here for any further analysis: Salmson Cars.
Bentley Continental R Mulliner. 131 were made over four years; the 420bhp engine being the prime differentiator from the rest of the S/R/T production. Dash design has obviously come on leaps and bounds over the years, and of course, ergonomics plays a significant part, but for me the structure present in this era of Bentleys was the apogee. Like John Foster Kane's fireplace in Xanadu, there is no requirement for anything so magnificent. But that's precisely the point. No building to a price - that's for the rest of the market. I know Bentley's resurgence was mainly down to VW's wallet, but if you want to lead your market, stretch ahead, especially in something as competitive as the luxury sector, then it is sometimes best to ignore the Porter Five Forces analysis and all that stuff. Go 'blue ocean'. Think big. Aim for the relatively uncontested space in ultimate quality and luxury and those with the fullest banks accounts will come.
Couple of spots on the M3 yesterday. Excuse the pictures taken by the mrs on a camera phone. I'm sure someone can tell us which model this it. Absolutely stunning, excellent condition.....
And then the opposite end of the spectum. 10 minutes after this, whilst in 60mph or so moving traffic I spotted this again ahead of us. It was only when I observed him swerving from lane to lane, undertaking people using slip roads I realised how he'd got ahead. He almost caused a fatal also, but cutting in from the slow lane where there was barely room, without looking he almost too the front end off of a BMW.
Yes, it has a "face"
And out this morning, hammering through the roundabouts on the A24 through horsham an orange MP4 12C with some sort of "gumball" type emblem. No pic though I'm afraid.
