S40 D5 DPF Concern

Hi,

I have a S40 D5 and have been commuting 90 miles each day, but I have a new job in a couple of months and will only need to travel 6 miles each way. Not really understanding the whole DPF thing, should I be worried and get rid of the car before I do some damage?

Any advice much appreciated.

Difficult one - maybe consider switching to a petrol as your fuel costs should be reduced from the much lower mileage?

I have just looked at the classifieds and my 08 plate with 98k miles is probably only worth £5k-£6k so might keep it anyway.
