Are we about to see Heidfelds record broken after all these years?
My understanding was that a the days of attempts on the record were gone, so this is all the more exciting!

It's big ask still, some fella drove the car last year and was 4 seconds off the record. I don't doubt Loeb's talents one bit but finding 4 seconds from a 40 something second run is huge. Will be good to know if or how they've tweaked the car. Will be a good spectacle but suspect Mr Newey's MP4/13 will hold it for a while yet.

I saw that record being set, I'd be very surprised if anyone betters it with the public present.

I can't see anyone beating that piece of driving on a FoS day. It still gives me a little shiver when I remember the speed he went past us at towards the end of the run - total commitment
