Was cleaning my mum's 2008 Honda Jazz over the weekend and I think the red paint is fading in certain areas. Has anybody had any issues with Honda cars paint fading and do manufacturers have paint warrenty on them?

The grey on my Civic is a slightly different on the plastics, bumpers / spoiler mainly, but it's hardly noticeable. Could it just be that?

Potentially. I need to check it again during the week in different light and see if parts have faded. Im sure a good detail would make a huge difference but it didn't certainly seem that parts where faded compared to parts not normally in direct sunlight.

Solid or clear coat?

If solid it probably just needs a good buff and coat of protection. If clear then it may have UV damage under the lacquer therefore requiring a paint job.

ETA

If UV damaged, the roof and bonnet would be faded the most as those areas have the most exposure to the sun.

Take it to a professional detailer in your area and ask what they think.

Red paint seems to fade no matter what brand or machine it is painted on.

Thanks all. I'm going to have another look during the week. I will check the paperwork when she bought the car and see what the paint warranty is.
