I would prefer the option of those that have signed up already to be able to offer a place or 2 to their local Main Dealer for them to offer to one or two of their preferred customers. That way it would be an Aston Track Day like the last one. (And I have had a good relationship with my main dealer for nearly 15 years so it would be nice to offer them something).

I have a concern that someone in another Marque may at some point try to prove a point.. "My ******* is faster than your Aston" for example.
Dave, I think you confuse the banter with the reality of the situation. The people I was suggesting maybe interested are very likely to be known to all on here, but it was only a suggestion to help with the financials of the day. I thought that Seemon & possibly myself (although doubtful) and maybe a few others would jump at the chance, but were not willing to speak up due to the current lack of an AM.

Personally if people feel as you do, then it needs to stay as an AM ONLY day and the cost will be £400 ish for each car, which is still a cheap day yes

I will be there watching smile and taking the piss as usual biggrin I really have nothing to prove me old china wink and Seemon is very old, so very slow; although in fairness nowhere near as slow as Lotto nono

I blame myself Tony,,,we all know how easy it is to agree to do something 6 months before the event. I was intending to ask for payments on Monday next,,,,I'll do the maths and post up the cost per car @ what ever number we have entered on the 1st Sept. Anyone that would like to join us after that date can do so but will need to make a request/payment direct to the circuit event organisers.
It'll come good Bob, not getting rid of me easily biggrin . As for late joiners if we are hiring the circuit shouldn't they reduce the cost per head rather than it going into the pocket of the circuit? For me I don't care what cars turn up as long as we know who they are or are friends of people who are signed up already. Whenever I have told people I am doing a trackday in the AM they all think it's risky but I counter that we all know each other and that makes a massive difference. Anyway let's hope we can get numbers up as we don't want a cost starting with a 4 or approaching that as that would be problematic methinks.
Okay, I would like to suggest that we do open it up to known 'acquaintancies' of our forum group for them to enter with a marque other than Aston Martin. I am just slightly cautious in the suggestion as I remember the Rockingham Track instructors commenting how well behaved we had all been, adding, perhaps because we were all driving Astons.

So assuming no objections, can I ask that anyone adding their name include the car model they will be driving.

Seemon, Cockers I hope to see you both on the list. Dave, I see no problem with your suggestion, Aston owners are great people in my book. yes

I've been asked to cough up the balance on the track fees,,,they have agreed to wait until the 8th Sept.

Bob, I appreciate you opening up to other marques as long as the drivers are known to the group but I feel there is sufficient feeling against doing so (which I fully understand) that I'd prefer to just spectate and meet people rather than take part.

Thanks for considering the option though.

Understood Martyn (you'd better not drop out though, if you're not going I'm not). I'm easy to be honest, just trying to please all the people all of the time isn't that easy. smile

My point is that I would rather have 'knowns' than 'unknowns' but I would expect anyone who is issuing invitations to consider them VERY carefully, I know someone who is great company and would jump at the chance to bring along his Beetle but could be a little 'competitive' so I won't be mentioning it whether it brings the cost down or not - I'd rather spend another 20 quid and enjoy the day than get wound up or worse. My preference is very much for AM owners or ex owners wink, but 30 is also a good number. Barring flood, famine, pestilence or a dodgy curry I'm in, car gets little enough use as it is.

We need a couple more entrants for this event but we must close the list by tomorrow morning. Anyone that didn't drive their Aston Martin on a Track before here is a great opportunity to experience your cars true performance capability. Where else can you safely and within the law go thru' the gearbox using full throttle, its an experience you will never forget, as those that joined us at Rockingham in March would confirm.

I have arranged for there to be 3 Instructors with us all day. Any driver that wants to learn the 'racing line' or perhaps have their wife take to the circuit, can use the services of these expert Instructors. Refreshments are available all day at the circuit restaurant.

Winter will soon be here, so get your name down now for a great day out with your fellow Astonauts.

Heads up chaps; It would be good to have a few more Astonauts signed up, since we've lost almost a third of the original entrants (for which I had to pay a £1300 deposit some months ago), the cost per car has risen.

Be back later today. smile

If we don't fill the list from the forum we can open it further an re advertise with AMOC. Another option is to offer one or two places to nominated AM dealers for their best customers. I would certainly like to offer 2 places to Harwoods in Chichester.
Dave, by all means go ahead and see if there are interested owners that would like to attend. We have at least 9 spare places to get back up to 35 entrants again,,,,I have no doubt whatsoever they will be responsible people,,,like what we are. biggrin

I believe this is the complete and up to date list (24 cars). To keep the cost below £400 we need 3 more cars. I do know that Cockers and Seemon would like to bring their 'interim' cars along and if no-one else minds, I would like to agree.

Tony thank you,,,,anyone else please speak up, for or against,,,its your day so you have every right to express your opinion. If you feel that you would like to pm me thats fine.

My main concern and why I feel inclined to allow just a few of our known friends to enter a different marque is based quite simply on my efforts to try and keep the individual cost below 400 squibs. I need your help here guys please, so don't be shy. ears
