See you at 6am at the start of the stick 1st roundabout this Friday. I have also signed up for the Dubai 92 (stupid, crazy fool).

I shall likely already be halfway to coffee by then, dropping friends off at the airport at 5.15 on Friday then heading straight to the stick.

Say Hi as you come past (you will, I'm slooooow) I'll be the fool on a red mountain bike wearing a globaleye racing top looking half dead!

What sort of pace will be at? We're also setting from the bottom at 6. The guy I ride with on a Friday is probably at 25kmh I am closer to 30. So if an easy pace and you fancy a lazy spin up the stick we could tag along

did DA this evening. thanks to kieran i have a much improved riding position and comfier saddle. clip less feels much quicker but fk me, quadriceps!

was good to be on the circuit at such an easy pace. would recommend it for the track day crowd even if you just walk around once.

Well you're both much quicker than me... I don't have a computer on the bike but given it's 17km up there and it takes me about an hour, I assume I'm running at 17 km/h

Say Hi when you breeze on by lol

Good to hear about so many PH'ers getting on their bikes. Jason, I didn't see you again?! What's going on?!

Set off from the 1st roundabout this morning at 5 as the bike track day was supposed to be a) open pit and b) starting at 9.

In true DA fashion, sign-on is now 11:30......

Will be doing the stick again tomorrow morning starting at 5.

Late start for me this morning, was the thick end of 6.45 when I set off... A long slog into the headwind meant a poor time of 80 minutes up and 50 back....

sorry to hear that Jason, hope you are back on the bike soon. Went down to Hatta this morning for a ride - great route, although had my first proper 'off' in 2 years. Landed hard on my hip - no damage to the bike though! As an aside, has anyone else been to Hatta recently? the route down to the pools is now tarmac - used to be a good track to drive through.

Anyone doing the Spinneys warm up ride Friday morning?

The guys I usually ride with have fallen by the wayside mostly due to predicted hangovers.

Will be aiming for an easy pace as have a quicker 85k on Saturday morning.

I had planned to take part in this Fridays ride but sadly I will in Qatar running our race bike in the world super bike support race. Such is the woes of my life.

Plan to do the stick tomorrow morning before work.

Out on the stick again tomorrow morning, hiring one of the bikes from the shop to see how I get on with something a little more road oriented.

Aiming to start at 5.45 or so, I'll be in the global eye top, say hi as you come past!

i was supposed to, but instead thought i'd bore myself silly instead by watching what passes for motorsport in this country.

i've registered for the 92km ride and my yorkshire cycling jersey/bib shorts arrived today so i'll be up at quadra this evening.

I did the ride, didn't ride as part of a group and managed just over a 29 avg which I'm pleased with given the wind.

As usual loads of groups with no common sense or courtesy. Quite pleased I did it on my own in the end.

I managed to avoid all of the groups, set off at about 6.20 just behind the last of the Spinneys riders, overtook a dozen or so of them on the way up the stick and (having stopped for coffee and a chat at the top) got blown into the weeds by 3 pelotons of rather serious looking cyclists on my way back down the stick a while later.
