We all went to the new OPC Colchester showroom specification suit to finalise our order which should arrive in June.
We had an amazing time picking all the options from those available and after much deliberation settled for those shown:

It's so easy to tick boxes and we had to show a little restraint (sort of).
Anyway it was a great experience which we all, as a family, enjoyed.
Our thanks to Richard and and everyone who contributed to our fun.
All comments welcome but please be gentle....

Congratulations on your new Cayman order. I have a quick question for anyone here. Is the issue of bore scoring now a thing of the past, consigned forever to the history books?
As part of my research into my next car this seems to have been mentioned a lot although not much since mid 2013.

Nice build, Budweiser, definitely a truer looking GTS than mine (nice touch with the seat belts too), the colours are always so hard to gauge on the Porsche configurator but the Guards Red with Satin Platinum wheels should go well together. We had an amazing time picking all the options from those available and after much deliberation settled for those shown:

Also relieved that someone else has deleted the Alcantara and gone for the leather, for me I think this will be easier to live with day-to-day and hopefully wear less.
Just got a manufacturers confirmed build for June! Need to see how this translates into a delivery date. Already got a run in trip planned to Scotland.
Regarding the bore scoring issue, this would be more of an issue if buying used, I plan to keep the car in warranty but it does cause a bit of concern that it's an issue in the first place and secondly the questionable way it appears to have been dealt with in some cases. Only time will tell on this one...
Here 's my spec. What do you think? www.porsche-code.com/PFDKLTD5

3% confirmed in writing. And honestly, I threw a softball during negotiations, so I might've been able to get 4-5%. This is in the US, so the order is not yet submitted since no dealer I've talked to has a car allocated yet.For those who has placed orders did you get any discounts?

You're certainly not going to lose the cost of the options in depreciation! For those who has placed orders did you get any discounts?

Have you considered the 'Carmine Red'? It looks great in the picture and is a very classy colour, really suiting the GTS.We had an amazing time picking all the options from those available and after much deliberation settled for those shown:

Having seen the colour on a GTS Cayenne we decided, after much soul searching, we preferred the Guards Red. Whilst that saved us £1600 (nice) it wasn't the money just a genuine like of Guards. It is a stunning colour and I'm sure a lot of buyers will choose it..Budweiser said:

IS the carmine red just a high gloss version of guards... not sure? Certainly a steep choice at 1600 notes, and has been said it's a solid colour, so the cost is a bit of an exclusivity tax.Anyone got any delivery dates yet?

I've just seen a Yellow Cayman S and I was surprised how much I liked it !!!!
I would look stunning with the black accents and smokey light lenses, what do you guys think?
Whilst I don't intend to sell the car for a good while it might be a harder sell than Guards red?....
Ive only seen one in yellow and I agree it was nicer than I expected, wouldn't choose one though. And you're right, you're much safer with Guards Red on the resale front.I would look stunning with the black accents and smokey light lenses, what do you guys think?

Agree they look nice although for me I still think the larger gloss intakes will take some getting used to. On a side note, what a horrendous product launch concept! The awkward staged interview wasn't much better either. A few minutes of exhaust noise would've been a much better sell imohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...
