Well I hope you are right - having only just taken delivery of our GTS! Certainly if 981/2 gets the utterly uninspiring sounding turbo flat four depreciation will certainly not be too bad. Look at 997/2 GTS prices, holding amazingly well.
Spot on. With pressures mounting for lower emissions - uninspiring pot 4's are likely for future porkers. Yep & true about 997 GTS's. I keep looking at whether to opt for one over waiting for my CGTS. So far, don't mind waiting I know someone very kindy posted a picture of the carbon door stills, when I was going via the order process. However, due to not being able to make my mind up I just have the standard ones installed.
Does anyone have the stainless doors stills installed so I can compair that against the carbon and normal ones. As I am going to get the OPC to retro fit them for me but not sure what ones to go for at the moment.

I have stainless steel ones (non backlit), I'll try and remember to take a pic of them after work and post later.AndyCGTS said:

What door sills do you get as standard?
These small plastic ones with black lettering:Though the stainless steel one is my car, do note that I'm finding photos of all sills in the first results of a Google Image Search. I believe Porsche also has images in the online Tequipment catalog.

given waiting lists, lack of RHD GT4's and the pending announcement of pot4's It will be interesting to see how residuals hold up on the GTS 981

Has anyone managed to get any discount lately. Thinking of placing an order this coming week but not sure if I should be pushing for any sort of discount or anything thrown in. Spec will be pretty basic with only £3.5k extras.

Some dealers are quoting next year for a slot and some second hand stock is list or over, so I doubt they will offer any decent sort of discount.http://www.porsche-code.com/PGRANEU6

Think it unlikely - though for what others have said you might have a little negotiating room if you want finance (which, it appears, you can change (cancel?) after 30 days). You might have more success with an S - not sensible if the GTS spec is what you really want - and almost certainly worse for residuals, but worth considering if you are (as appears) looking for a car to quite a basic spec. http://www.porsche-code.com/PGRANEU6

Cool trick with the Porsche Code - I will try that.http://www.porsche-code.com/PGRANEU6
Don't think that's a basic spec at all. When I bought my 986 I only added metallic paint and a wind deflector, which at that time was extra. I missed PSE and Sports seats, which are now standard. You are going for the PDK which I wouldn't, though that's a personal choice.
Discount? I asked and they only laughed.

I managed a tad over £2500.!!! Must have caught them on a good day. Not saying where from as I don't want to jeopardise the order but just saying it is possible if you go with the right frame of mind and say the right things and be very friendly about it.....The dealer allowance came of the options list.
