Thats a sparse spec!!

When I ordered mine I couldn't get it below £70k!!

Why do you want the GTS designations removed?
Hey Liam, the Mrs is imposing a 60k limit which I could go a bit over but as this will be a toy I don't really feel I need much of the rest of it.. how far off is yours and what spec do you go for? smile

I did ask a cheeky question on the GT4 and got told they only had 1 - assume that wasn't you?

Not me I'm afraid!

I ended up cancelling mine after they told me in October that the PTS order book had just closed and wouldn't be opening again until January. And then the PTS delay of 12 weeks would have mean't delivery at May 2015, maybe later......didn't want to wait that long, especially with the GT4 on the horizon.

My spec was £73k all in.......PDK, Buckets, PCM, GTS interior and exterior pack, PTS and other stuff!

Went to Porsche in Solihull today - interesting convo with the people there, hoping to put my name down for a GTS but it will have to be delivered in March next year (assuming production continues) as there is no more allocation this year - so says a man called Nathan in central pork. This probably isn't news to people here but was to me smile

Looking at my final spec http://www.porsche-code.com/PGNFJ5W6

The centre were saying that almost none are manual cars and that seemed to be true from the stock they had - all pdk... can someone have a look at the spec and ensure I haven't missed anything obvious and that I'm not insane going for a manual... smile
Good discipline with the spec! I read somewhere that about 15pct of GTS orders are manual so you will have a rare beast in your hands!

Maybe only thing missing in your spec is climate control? I'd say PCM as well but that's just a con really.

Thanks, the only thing I might be tempted by is the buckets but I cant find a car anywhere to have a sit in that has them...

Is the sports exhaust £360 option not included as standard in the GTS? i assumed it was but can see it unticked on my config

I think that item is a piece of metal they attach to the end of the exhaust. The standard exhaust is the black tipped one. This is chrome I think? Entirely aesthetic so comes down to personal choice. The PSE is standard though.

I saw this in the Dm just now. Hope it wasn't any of you guys on here!

It didn't look like he had X73 which probably explains it...

Steve,

I have buckets in my R, same buckets as the ones in the GTS if I remember correctly, feel free to come sit in them!

PSE is standard on a GTS...

I've got buckets in my BGTS and they're fantastically comfy and really look the business. Getting in and out requires a bit mor care - I try and lower myself in so as not to wear the edge of the seat unduly. Also helps if you slide the seat all the way back before getting out and have the roof down (boxster only obviously tongue out)

Something odd is going on here. I was first quoted £34.54 +VAT (each) for them and then £153 +vat (each) for the complete kit.

So I'm going to try another dealer.

Never had any trouble with them either; no discomfort on long journeys etc; absolutely loved them.

Got them on my CGTS. Absolutely agree, love them too. Just a bit of care when getting in and out, just a matter of training and memory of actions to take to get in (easiest) and out.

I think it will depend on how tall you are - it's much easier to get out of the Cayman (or Boxster with the roof on) if you have the seat back. Having to move the seat back at the end of every journey and forward again at the start of the next is a bit tedious. (Speaking as a shortarse ex Elise owner)

Buckets are great, I was worried as I could only try them in a BGTS at PCE, but for my slim shortarse (5'-6") frame they are perfect in my CGTS and no backache at all on a 3 hour commute. But I've always found bucket seats more comfortable than standard seats.

Welcome to try mine if you're ever in deepest Norfolk or Kettering

The real problem arises if (as I very often find) you are unable to open the doors fully. Access is an issue even with the standard sports seats then - and I'm a similar size to you. For the same price personally I'd go for the 18 way adjustables with easy out. Unlike the buckets they adjust for height, which is an issue for me, and might well be for many if their other half is small. I know they are heavier, but I think on a car as heavy as the Cayman, you can get overstate the significance.

I might take a different view if my car was tracked and a weekend toy - but it's a DD and on track I prefer something much lighter and more focussed with a fixed harness.

I have the buckets in mine and love the look and the way they grip you and feed the information to you, but for an everyday car they would become a nightmare I guess due to the more difficult excess they cause plus I guess the wear on the side tops might become an issue over time

This kind of illustrates how even for two people of similar stature the choice is entirely personal. I've never found a problem with ingress and egress and the standard seats in my TTRS, BMW 1 Series, Scirocco etc. all gave me backache. -I swapped the TT seats for Pole Positions with fixed mounts and thereafter felt comfortable even on all day drives.

If you like bucket seats the Porsche ones are good and the folding back helps with storage behind the seat. If you don't like bucket seats doubt these will change your mind.

Really you've got to try them I suppose.

(Plus on the odd times you get to throw the car around on the road I find you feel more connected to the car).
