Hi

We are renting a MH in the summer and driving down through France. The title of the thread says it all really: I am after a small cheap gas BBQ that we can take with us for the trip. I dont want to spend a fortune as we are only renters and will probably only use it next if we rent in 2015 (planning on going to N Italy that year smile )

If you have any pointers I'd appreciate it

Thanks smile

Not sure if you'd call this cheap at £100 but these are brilliant, called an O Grill, something to do with Marco Pierre White I think. I've had one for a few years and brilliant for carting about! Gas bottle is plastic so not heavy either.

Does your rental motorhome come with an external gas point for barbecue connection?

It would be very handy if it did.

That aside, yes, Cadac. No. Scratch that. Get a Cadac instead. Much better.

I'm in a similar position and need a gas BBQ for our van, but a friend has a Cadac and I wasn't particularly impressed. It's basically just a big griddle pan on a gas burner so you don't get the flaming effect at all.

I know they do differing models but the Carrychef delux, which packs down very well has the griddle pan you mention for steaks etc.
If you turn that over you have a big frying pan.
You take that off, fit a heat deflector and a conventional BBQ grill for BBQ's.
You then have the 'Scottle' which is good for currys, fried rice, peallas or even a roast with he lid on if it takes your fancy.
It also has a stand for conventional pans, kettles etc.
