And now its not!
The weather is cold so this is just a light first coat. I'm going to build it up with coat after coat very lightly applied.
Daz you do it with a 1in brush and barely touch it or you get drips, its not easy.
My main task is to get every mm covered first then start to get a finish later.
I thought of driving it now seems even better. Its just knowing its sound.
Porn porn porn, you can't beat it!!!
As the rain stopped play I removed pre cat from manifold today, well pleased I'd been putting it off, dirty dirty old job, but even though I drilled them out after much bashing and drilling there fully removed and smooth inside pipes.
Yesterday I was working but polished rad, and other alley bits.
I ain't worked so hard in years!
Thanks for the support, its a grovelling old job doing it this way but it shows it can be done.
There's nothing like a chassis re furb but this can prolong your chassis by years,,,, hopefully.
It'll look nice with new bolts and stainless washers etc.
long way to go yet mainly because I need higher temps!!!
Come on weather. The perils of working outside, I had the cover on and off 3 times today.
Blimey Alun, that's a cracking bit of work you are doing there.....makes my bit of a cleanup and paint of the outriggers a bit insignificant!! I found the same, some of the tatty bits when stripped and treated are actually very sound and it's a great way to prolong life prior to a major refurb. What are you painting it with?

Have you paid someone to do all that!!. Why l asked , l polished my alternator and bracket, air flow meter, and made new Ali pulleys as l have access to heavy duty buffing machines , lathes and vertical millers at work and it took me ages , l reckon a weeks work in total. that's all.Mark
I used a 4.5 in grinder with a rust removing disk then a softer disc then various drill attachments then good old wet and dry to 2000 smooth grit, then Solvol, my best friend. It takes bloody hours but the weather being inclement has given me the chance to get them done.
The manifolds I've been very gentle and could get a better finish but I quite like the used look, lol
It does get brain numbing but its well worth it and far more exciting when putting it all back together.
