I agree. I wonder if they have a donations page?
hehe

Its fairly simple though isn't it? Pay them enough and they will happily move? Do you not have the money?

Enic offered them a new & bigger site near the North Circular Road (just a few miles away) but the costs of relocation and rebuilding a new business had to be borne by Archway and they weren’t willing to finance a fairly large loan that would be required having got themselves free of debt.

Flip side is Spurs have apparently more than met their obligations in this matter.

It's all down to Pickles.

It's his birthday next week, I've put a twenty in his nan's purse for a nice surprise.

So Option A is remain where you are debt free

Option B is move a few miles up the road to a larger site but have to fund the move and be in debt?

Option B is st!

That is how I understand it. How on earth does Levy envisage such an offer succeeding? I guess he's going to take his chance at saving a couple of mill by getting awarded a CPO and fking over the local business. If he fails then and only then will he give them adequate compensation.

You know how business works right?

Would your professional advice be to do otherwise than what is being done?

Perhaps you ought to offer your services to LFC who really are screwing the little guy.

A small quote...

"Liverpool's remaining neighbours, suffering some of Britain's worst living conditions, are grappling with hardball offers, to have their houses knocked down and make way for it all. In the Premier League of the 21st century, this is Anfield."

Shameful.

We're offering money for their houses so they can find a house to move into elsewhere.

The correct equivalent of what you're doing with Archway would be to buy up the local green down the road and tell them to go and build their own houses!

You mean that you've deliberately driven down the property values so that you can offer them a paltry sum at the new "market rate" that you have created, which will not be enough for them to buy somewhere else.

How generous of you.

I know for certain that Mr. Levy would be paying well over the odds for the houses if Spurs faced a similar predicament.

In that case why isn't he spending a little extra so this company will just move, safe in the knowledge they will be in the same financial condition on the other side?

Surely no-one thought that Levy would actually spend more than the absolute minimum required on anything? wink

Not if he can get the government to be the bad guy in any decision! If the government decision is in the businesses favour you know he'll stump up the cash, otherwise it's more money saved.

yes

In offering what he has so far they've gone beyond what is the norm.

A committee will decide on the level of compo.

Still, at least its the millionaire owners of Spurs jousting with the millionaire family-owners of Archway.

Not the might of the Fenway Group against a handfull of working class familys.
