good news
Vertonghen in interview with Belgian Radio 1:
"It's obvious I want to stay at Tottenham. I still had a 4 year contract so the fact that they've offered me a 5 year contract is a big vote of confidence"
On his ankle injury "I want to be cautious with it, cause a season like last season where I went from one injury to the next, is something I definitely want to avoid."
"At the end of the summer break you always look forward to link up with the lads again and we have a new manager so yes, I'm looking forward to return to work at Spurs."
"We are in talks about a new contract. We both want to come to an agreement."
"If I didn't want to extend I wouldn't have opened talks. I don't want to betray the club's trust in me."

Time to repay the faith this season.
Seems you have singed a new striker
Thanks guy, as there was rumours we were in for him
My understanding is that Jay Rodriguez has already agreed terms with Spurs after the clubs met in Toronto last week @BenSmithBBC
Also
Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC 6 mins

Don't really see the point in either of then personally.
Shniderlin is the midfield general the manager wants, good player and proof that levy is giving him the backing he didn't give avb with the mouninho fiasco.Rodriguez however is a ridiculous signing he was st before he did his cruciate and is still out for months.

Is he any better than Sandro, Capoue, Dembele, Bentaleb, Paulinho, Holtby, Carroll, Mason?
Sandro and Capoue would be the direct comparison and yeah I think he is better than both! Sandro looks like he's off anyway.Don't forget in both teams he has coached poch has played with two deep midfilders.

I thought Mason was impressive last night - good young player, hope he gets more opportunities. As soon as he got the ball he was looking up and around for a decisive pass, rather than just playing it square/back.
Is that Ryan Mason? Hope so, he was class with us a few seasons ago on loan with Caulker. GloverMart said:

Yep - first time I'd seen him...thought he was excellent - OK it was Chicago not EPL but he looked like he had a decent first touch and was the one who got us moving forward (rather than through the back 4)Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
