Lennon was one of my all time favs at Spurs too, i really am sorry to see him go,
Hope he does well for Everton.
There's a nice video of his time at Spurs doing the rounds atm.
He's actually thanked all at spurs publically for the ten years he's been there too.. Nice touch.

Why didn't we go for Charlie Austin?
Us, the Goons , United & the Hammers all looking for a 15-20 goal a season man at a reasonable price & nobody seems remotely interested in him. There must be something people in the game know about him that we do not.Ask Sye on the angry boys thread, he's pretty up on this ITK stff.
Does Sye know anyone at Liverpool Victoria, it must be an insurance thing?...

Talking of Arry, see what he said about Liverpool ?
I reckon he fancies the job there to repair all the damage & wasteful spending that Mr Rodgers has burdened the club with.

Lennon always worked hard. Improved season to season. Was ALWAYS double marked, which allowed space for others. His final ball was far better than most give him credit for. He terrified full backs just by being on the pitch and did that delightful little frustrated leap into the air whenever he lost the ball.Hope he does well for Everton.

I love him unreservedly and at one point, seriously considered marrying him.

I know you do, That's why i haven't posted the video of him.I love him unreservedly and at one point, seriously considered marrying him.
No need for Mrs Blib to thank me neither.
I'm glad they made that statement.
Makes Peacy look a bit small time. Their highest ever transfer deal (bought or sold) is £10 million. The next highest is 6.6 mil. For those sorts of fees of course you'd expect to get it one lump sum. As Levy said, when you start swimming with the big boys the rules change somewhat.
I've never quite understood the whole 'Plan B' signing thing. It screams of signing someone, anyone, just to appease people. Yes there should be a list of targets, but if it comes to deadline day and you can't get the one you want, you don't just look to get anyone. Doing that usually means you have to spend the coming windows shipping out players you bought in a rush the last time.

Yeah but no but yeah.....clearly Saido was a Plan A signing. You don't make 4 offers, right up to the deadline, totalling £25m for someone who is just a back-up signing; a want not a need. Cleary he was a Plan A player and we failed to sign him. We could have bid £25m 4 weeks ago, had it turned down and then looked to Plan B. There is a fair bit of spin in the Levy statement and I don't buy any of it.Makes Peacy look a bit small time. Their highest ever transfer deal (bought or sold) is £10 million. At least I have even less expectation this season than I usually do

Exactly, and its not the first time either. As for Lennon really sorry to seem him go. cost us £1m and we got 10 good years out of him, the best thing about his game that ive never seen anyone give him credit for is his first touch it really is excellent. I hope he does well at Everton just not v us.

It's a negotiation. Of course Levy was going to low ball him! This is the guy who got a world record fee for Bale. It's the same as Liverpool getting almost 50 mil for Raheem.
I'm of the opinion that their Chairman has little/no experience dealing at the richer end of the market and took things personally. When it got to 25 mil on deadline day he was pissed off and stubborn.
Oh well, we've got what we've got. Time to actually support them team right?

Hmmmm. I see him a bit differently to you and I wouldn't even have sex with him, let alone marry. Ok, maybe sex but definitely no second date.I love him unreservedly and at one point, seriously considered marrying him.
Instead of improving every season I thought he peaked about 8 years ago and simply got worse each season thereafter. Whether he lost pace or not, Im not sure, but I don't think I saw him take a player on successfully in his last 2 seasons with us.
I still have fond memories of him and I like him, I just thought he was a st player towards the end.

I think you missed the point (or I did). He was a plan A and Levy was defending not getting anyone else in when it was obvious Berinho wasn't a goer.At least I have even less expectation this season than I usually do
I thought the statement was a good one, and much needed judging by the tone of this thread.
Also, on a complete tangent, I was thinking how down I have been feeling about Spurs lately and then watching the Everton game I was struck by the fact that we were comfortably the better team and our overage age is about 13. We must easily be the youngest in the premiership aren't we?
It's actually potentially exciting as we can reasonably expect all of our players to get better every year.

I just hope that the youngsters get given a chance. At least you know they will give 100% in every game. Would like to see Alli and Pritchard play more. And why is Trippier not getting any game time? Son is a good player and will be a valuable signing. No idea about Njie.
I'm not fussed about missing out on Saido and I'm glad we haven't signed anyone just for the sake of it. Still think Levy is at fault for mis-judging WBA intentions, regardless of the spin in the statement.
Still time to sign Berbs....

I was interested in this as we (LFC) are well aware our 1st team age is low too so did quick look into the 1st gameIt's actually potentially exciting as we can reasonably expect all of our players to get better every year.
Our average age was 24.45
Yours was 24.72
Definitely a promising future for both clubs based on that
Adebayor not on either of the official squad lists, Premier or Europa. Last game played for Spurs!
