Hi,

I have 3 cars that I regularly wash, one of which is 1986 MY and has red paint that oxidises very quickly so requires regular polishing with a UV protective polish (I use Zaino Z3) to avoid regular machine polishing (I have been using Farcella G3 because I have a tube that seems to last forever).

Shortly after washing and polishing the car, it will develop a layer of Sahara type fine sand all over it which is only visible due to the shine. This got me thinking that rather than just the two bucket method, maybe I should use Snow Foam to remove any (not so visible) grit before regular washing.

My question is as a general consumer rather than a detailer, is it worth using widely available Demon Foam or is it worth buying a more trade related make of snow foam? If so which one?

Thanks,
Mark.

PS I have used Demon Shine before and wasn't that impressed with the results.

If you have a pressure washer I would recommend a Pre Wash product rather than Snowfoam.
Pop it in a pressurised garden sprayer, apply all over and allow to dwell for a couple of minutes, Don't use it in direct sunlight as it will dry too quickly.
I use this one ( http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/valet-pro/citru... ) but there are many alternatives, and different suppliers, available.
I have snowfoam, but I prefer this solution.

I always snow foam a car i do, for me i prefare it as a pre wash compaired to spray on pre washes ( for example demon machine rapid dirt shifter or auto finesse citrus power) as if you get the right foam its just easier.

I have used demon shine snow foam and i have to say its okay, not the best i have used but its half decent in its cleaning power. For me magifoam is the best i have used to date. I am getting to try out 3 new snow foam just on the market by a chem so will report back on them and see where they come in in terms of cleaning power.

And as a bonus it looks cool smile

Thanks, as I also intend to use it as a pre-wash I'd be interested in your findings.

I'll hold off on the Demon Foam for the time being.

A-chem snow foams arrived today so will get them tested asap. Will do a little comparison on a snow foam vs a pre wash ( spray on eg. Demon machine rapid dirt shifter/ power maxed TFR)

Just make sure it's PH Neutral like your shampoo and your sorted, otherwise it's not doing any good on your wax.

As its wanted for a regular mantaince wash i will have a shot of the snow storm supreme wich is the ph neutral one so will be lsp safe. My car has a coating of dodo juice supernatural hybrid on it ( not got as okd water behaviour anymore as it has been on a while). The cars not that dirty either, just mid splatters and crap off the roads due to it actually being sunny then chucking it down and going on a motorway.

The last time i washed it was with demon demon foam and i had found that it struggled to achieve a decent amount as a lre wash, in comparison to other foams that is.

The container says mix one part snow foam to 10 parts water so did that ( might have added less foam to be honest) and off i went outside to give it a try. The dial at the to was about half open. I have to say i was suprised at the thickness of the foam. Pictures dont really show it that well but its was really thick and clingy.

Rinsed it off and its made a fantastic job of getting the dirt off. It says to leave it on 1-2 minutes, i left on for about 3 but was still as thick as when sprayed on.

Hope this helps you out
