Hi all, I am new to pistonheads, been reading for years, finally took the plunge. I would love to know what the classic car scene is like in the places I mention in the title. The reason , I was born in Kilkenny , lived in Galway, then Mullingar, left Ireland in the mid 80s ,so am getting on a bit now! Live in Scotland and enjoy Opel mantas, been restoring and modifying some over the past years. Would love to make it over to a car show in one of them one day! All the best Gerry.

Hi Gerry,

I'm not that heavily involved in the vintage scene in Ireland yet, just bought an MX-5 though so hoping to get to a couple of meets over the Summer if we get one smile

I did some googling on your behalf and this looks like a good starting point, Irish vintage scene is a magazine in Ireland now all about shows, autojumbles etc... (which shows the scene is alive and well really).

This is a club directory on their site:
http://www.irishvintagescene.ie/clubs-2/

Kilkenny motor club looks fairly active so maybe a good starting point.

Hope this helps and if you do get over for a show, enjoy smile

P.S. backroads.ie is the Irish equivalent of pistonheads and a good place to ask any motoring question.
