Hi,

I had my 3door VW polo 9n3 broken into, they smashed the passenger door window by putting (I assume) a screwdriver between the glass and the door pillar. The cheapest solution at the time was to just get the glass replaced and not claim for a full insurance claim.

So what I'm asking it how easy is it to remove and fit a replacement black door pillar panel myself,

I should say the glass goes up and down without any additional rubbing from any bodywork damage and infact has been working like this for over a year.

Or is this a quick bodyshop visit frown

Cant remember on the VW Polo, but when your removing youll no doubt break the clips, but this will give you an idea how to re-attach, just make sure your new one has clips included.

Thanks 7even, so if I order the right part + clips, this should be a simple click off click on fix, is that right ?

yeah have the new part in hand first so you can see the mounting points/clips and if there's a hidden screws anywhere. That should give you enough to go on.

If its the same as the Passat then there are 3 screws behind the window rubber, remove those then it should slide off towards the rear of the car.
