I am currently in the market for a nice saloon car. Would it be a wise move to buy the current model C63 new purchase knowing that there will be a new model in 2015. How do people see the residual values holding up?
Cheers

I've just taken a lease on a new one for 2 years. The way I figure it, its going to lose at least £20k from the new price over that time and its only costing me £14k in payments. The lease option also takes away the risk factor that a 6.2l car could present in 2016 with the tighter emission laws/fuel costs/etc when it comes to selling it.

The simple answer to your question is "yes"

Hi

I am going to say yes as well.
The new E63 (turbo) does not have the same noise, excitement and character of the older one, and I fear that the next C63 will be the same.
Get one while you can....I am totally smitten over mine and I have had it for quite some time.

Sounds like I will take the risk of the new one being dull compared to the 6.2. I've seen a nice 13 plate with performance pack. The trouble is I like the fire opal colour & the one I've seen is white?

I always considered the C63 to be one of the few cars that actually look good in white. Personal preference of course.

Why don't you wait until the new one comes out. That way you can decide for yourself if the new engine is on a par or not. This has the added benefit that if you prefer the NA 6.2, then prices will drop even further due to it being the old model.

the n/a e63 was fantastic ,I was a bit disappointed with the new engines, there is combined with the slightly sluggish gearbox a noticeable lag when you put your foot down I found compared to the n/a version.

Sorry, was away skiing last week (got to do something to pass the time until 1st May...). i got my deal from here:

http://www.pantheonleasing.co.uk/mercedes-car-leas...

Since there are no prices showing anymore, I have a feeling that they might have all gone now but give Martyn a call there anyway, he might still be able to get his hands on some.

(I am not in anyway linked to Pantheon Leasing and I cannot vouch for them yet as I still haven't taken delivery of my car but so far everything appears to have gone smoothly)

I have just purchased and collect Thursday a new C63 estate with a few options and got just under 10k off, Interestingly phoning around within 200 miles of Cornwall the best I could get was 2.6k discount plus Mercs contribution which is about 3k. my local dealer was by far the best. This added to a 2 yr pcp means I only pay £100 pm more than my 2012 GTD golf.

Are they still being built or when you talk of 'new' cars are these all physical but unregistered dealer cars?

My order was for a pre-registered showroom car. 'New' (only 10 miles on it at the moment) but pre-existing like you say.

Hello sir, just trying to make sense of the above - when you say 'added to a 2 year pcp' how do you mean exactly? The fact that you're only paying £100 more over a GTD caught my eye! Currently £400 on an M135i per month so just wondering how the figures compare to the C63 (which incidently I thought was nearer £600ish per month plus a large deposit).

Cheers

Martin
