We'll the mot was booked for today , I had booked the auto sparky for yesterday to sort out some the wire mess , but he was a no show...so I thought shall I cancel the pre booked mot today ...anyway what's the worst can happen is a fail... So impromptu repairs on the electrics and the odd bit checking here and there .. And finally I'm ready as I'm gonna be ..so here it goes ..

The drive to the mot station , I hated , size 12 work boots on , tricky with the pedals , wrong tyre pressures ... Also the noise of the exhaust , I had forgotten how loud this cars is ..my temperature gauge is rising , must have blown fuse somewhere ?

Now the test begins , tester not giving much away (poker faced )until climbs in the pit and shouts it's all new under here,,, I thinks was expecting rust and lots of it ...

So my del monte moment arrived with a yes , it's a pass...

The drive back home was much more of a pleasure , my boots had become ballet shoes as I danced the pedals .. And the exhaust sounded like an orchestra playing my favourite song..

I'm so happy

Well done - massive relief i'm sure. Got my moment of truth soon too. Just hope it doesn't turn out expensive, since I'm due to be on the Euro Tour!

Hi Paul , Family holiday planned , but I think I've ducked out of it for now (.too busy).. So I can get on with a few jobs , with no hassle...
Also working on the Chim ... In the next few weeks ..
So I might be up for Burghley , I let you know next week ..

Ok cheers guys for the encouragement the fault of getting rid had crossed my mind , but I've still niggles of little jobs to do on the car ( will these jobs ever get done) !

Good news Kie. Might get you out of the 944 now. Had Samy out for an evening blast last night. Loved it.

I see you!

Spotted driving 'down the hill' roof up though!

Car sounded very nice. What's the exhaust you have fitted? It's exactly what I'm looking for.

Swimmer S2 Paul Cheers for pm, I do hope to go to Burghley , but sadly it might not be in the S , as I've already arranged to have some paintwork done on it ... And the Chim would be in middle of having the outriggers done .. So it's looking like the daily driver at the moment ... If you have any issues with yours you can jump in with me ...

Mk 1 fan ( stew ) I was heading down to the spares shop to see if I could get a relay ..when you must of spotted me ..

My exhaust is stainless V8 big bore , so has large tailpipes
I think ACT Tim does something similar...
.

The poxy dust cloud dirt on the cars does mark your paintwork if left .. One of my cars has pit marks on the bonnet . So I had to mop the marks out ...
I had Some minor paintwork done on the Chim on Last week and Saturday , the car was mopped ,all looking much better ...
By Monday this was covered in Sahara dust ... I left it knowing as I might be doing a body lift in a few days ..now I'm thinking it's not a wise move , I shall just have to wait and see on Friday when I clean it ..
So Guys if you got some of this dust on your cars , probably best get it cleaned off as soon as possible ..

Hi Kie

Sorry only just seen the post!
Yes we left at 7.30am and arrived about 9.15am, nice day with plenty to see and eat!.
My S2 did the 250 miles without any issues apart from a raised tickover which was cured by unplugging the ICV and reconnecting it.
Did you make it ok?

Swimmer S2 Paul .. I did actually go to Burghley , got there early , with my brother in law, who lives 10 mins away ..
Sadly I was in Bm... So had to pick up some spares in Spalding..later on.
I thought I saw your car there in the morning.. But could not see you ..it's good that you had relatively trouble free run up there ....
I do this run regular when visiting family..
Saw a few of the boys there .. But shame the cars weren't grouped together , as it's easier to greet and meet ..
Any way flat out with work at the moment , be good to catch up soon ..
