VOSA have a base in Dover docks and are pretty active.I was in there a couple of weeks ago picking up overload stuff from a polish sprinter curtainsider , He had to pay £180 to have the clamp wire removed.
It looks like they are taking foreign lorries seriously at last .

They have certainly been handing out leaflets about it. It's called the HTC levy and it charges between 1.70 and 10.00 pounds a day.

Just need the french to sort the illegals now.
I ran into calais monday for the boat home, and plenty of them lurking along the roadside waiting for a chance to jump on the wagon.

When in Calais I park just off diesel row ( Rue des Garennes ), if the IDS is full ( usually ) I park behind the BP station on a small industrial estate, my unit has 1600 litre tanks on it and I haven't had any bother.

Sadly we only mainly use Dover Calais for channel stuff, unless the tour dictates otherwise!
We are on the party boat mid tour though, from Sweden to Finland smile
