Mini Cooper S

Hi all. Slightly thinking of getting a Cooper S. Found a nice one locally with a good spec (Lounge Leather and Pano Roof) BUT it is an Auto. I would prefer a manual really, but would consider an auto. My question, is it a "proper" auto or is it one of those CVT gearboxes?

My 2010 R56 Cooper S N18 is a proper auto, not CVT. HTH.

Sorry for the late reply - only just seen this...

My wife's Cooper S Roadster is an auto, and it's a hoot to drive,
especially when you knock the gear selector over to 'DS' mode;
when you welcome the ability to keep both hands on the wheel
to wrestle against the torque steer!!

To be fair, the Roadster has had several mods and a stage 2 remap,
but it was a blast to drive even when it was 100% standard.
