On Tuesday evening the ACO announced on French TV that it was with great sadness that due to technical problems the 24 Hour race has had to be put back this year until October. The only weekend available is the last weekend, and that because that weekend comprises the hour change for the first and only time the race will therefore run for only 23 hours. he was accompanied on TV. I watched it with great sadness for you all.

Seeing as the ACO won't even stop the race when there's a death on track, I doubt a few technical issues would alter their schedule.....

One of the less believable April Fools this year.......

The ACO do have previous on this don't they ?

I'm not sure it does now due to the alternative entertainment available, but around the walls of Tetre Rouge were posters up from previous years, one of which I recall was from the late 60's when the race was held in September which from memory was due to national past time of striking. Otherwise it's normally the 24th weekend of the year.

Strangely I was researching through my old magazines and came across this advert:-

It was run in late September that year if you remember!
