Just purchased a stunning 2012 face lifted black saloon with black alloys with a silver rim. Cracking car and such an addictive soundtrack.

I've noticed there is not much meat left on the front and rear pads and with a track day coming up in may at Bedford I'm thinking I should get these sorted. As the car does not have an electric handbrake I would like to attempt to change them myself as I have managed this before with not too much drama on previous cars I have owned.

My question is this, what pads to go for? Aftermarket will no doubt be cheaper than eom and I am more than happy to go down this route if there are some high quality ones out there? Anyone have any aftermarket pads on their car that they would recommend? And how much? Also any tips from anyone that has taken on a DIY pad change on a c63?

Thanks in advance!

On the mbclub some people are running EBC red stuff pads with good results, although the Gerald co census appears to be that OEM is the way to go

I'll be using oem on mine when they need doing

Any place to get a better deal on OEM parts than going directly to Mercedes? And how much are they likely to cost?

I know this is off topic, but when i renewed my warranty with MB, the person read out some exclusions and track day use was one of the items mentioned. I wouldn't track my C63, so i didn't pursue this further, but thought id point it out.

Just before I sold mine I had the pads replaced. They were about £100 for the fronts, OEM, from Mercedes, if I remember correctly.

Here you go, £150 from a dealer

Although Mercedes don't manufacture the brake pads, they are probably Textar or something similar
