£3,999

Same age, colour combo and spookily mileage as mine. Mine is SWB tho, and has 4 or 5 owners, but I reckon its worth more like £2k.

Depends how much bork each respectively carry...

There's a few about at these sorts of asking prices:

1997 SWB (decidedly tattier looking) with 91k £3,999: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C476259

A similar iL to the one above with 93k miles at £3,499: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C401900

Of course an element is the usual C&C inflation and they'll likely be pricing against each other.

Just back from a bank holiday break and digested a dozen pages of quality barge threading; the barge threadist assist purchase of that S124 being of particular note.

That one looks like its up at £2800 to me. I rather like it in Aspen Silver with Black Sports Seats and M Paras.

Are you looking for one to buy Len?

Respray and (probably) fake AMG wheels compound the no service history to make it too fannied about with for me. The more original the better IMHO, and original this is not.

For 124 owners. I noticed these Rainbow speakers going cheap on Ebay. These provide a significant improvement in sound quality and are designed specifically for the 124 to be a straight swap in the dash. I don't know where the bidding will end and I have nothing to do with the seller, but I thought they might be of interest to someone here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rainbow-KX-120-Quality-1...

I have them in mine.

I hope this is not a waste of space.

I don't know it well, but I thought Formby was Ok? - The posh bit (Freshfield) is very expensive and footballer-ish, isn't it?

Formby is right next door to Royal Birkdale Golf Club and generally very genteel and expensive from what I can remember.

Some parts of it are. Like many seaside towns it has a decent and a cheap side. I'd just be nervous about any car being bought by the sea. tongue out

Living by the sea, as I do, I can confirm that you're right to be nervous.

I'm not convinced anything would make me buy a car from Liverpool or Manchester. A gun to the head, maybe. It wouldn't surprise me.

Edit: with apologies to all north western threadists.
