Sony Xperia Z3 Compact - Your Thoughts . . .
Discussion
^ I thought that might happen! sorry.
A red/mandarin/orange (depending who you ask) Z3C should be in my mitts tomorrow morning, courtesy of Handtec. Will make a change from all my previous greyscale devices.
A headsup for anyone ordering sim free, the Z3C requires a nano-sim so you might need to get an adapter if like me you switch between phones every now and again.

I bought a Z1 compact a couple of months ago SIM free to replace an HTC One which was annoying me due to average battery life.
The compact offered me everything I needed in a phone at a decent size with great battery life.
My only complaint would the predictive swipe text, it's not as good as the version I had on my HTC one, but that's a small loss for a great saving on battery and size.
Might well upgrade again in Jan once a few reviews of the Z3 compact are kicking around

Anyone ordered and received from Handtec been informed when they're despatching the bundled case and charger? Customer Services is closed at the weekend! Would like to get a case fairly quick.
Why do you need the case so quickly? Does it look like it is easily damaged or having second thoughts about the colour?!I was thinking of using mine without a case as there aren't a lot available at the moment. I also saw that there will be a tempered glass front and back protector available in a couple of weeks so I might try that instead.
Yesterday also ordered a red and black one of these. Used the same case for my Z1C, nice and slim.

Luckily the magnetic dock for the Z1 Compact works with the Z3. A bit looser as the phone is a fraction slimmer.

I'm going to get one of these, I've made my mind up!
Is Clove still the cheapest place to buy one? I can't see anywhere cheaper having searched about.
As above Clove and Handtec, they were both throwing in the same case and car charger although may ship after you receive the phone. On mine I did notice some app language settings were set to chinese, but that may have been caused by updating those apps, still the possibility that these early batches of Z3C's came from China, who knows?! Having said that £70 off plus the bundled accessories make it a no brainer IMO Is Clove still the cheapest place to buy one? I can't see anywhere cheaper having searched about.

My Z1 compact came from these people SIM free and had Chinese as a default. Looks like they have the Z3 at a decent price too.http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/sim-free-mobil...
Z3 Compact - awesome phone, I pre ordered one from Clove and it came last week so I've had a good chance to get to grips with it.
If you don't like the idea of the ever growing slabs of glass that seem to typify the flagship phones of today, but still want flagship specs, there's only one phone that is totally uncompromising. This is it.
remember it takes a nano sim so you may need to order one.
Coming from a Moto G the shape being all square isn't as comfortable in hand, and being glass front & back, you do really need a cover of some sort on it, and that's really all the disadvantages out of the way.
Oh yes, speaking personally I couldn't get on with the Sony keyboard, and I d loaded the standard Google one that I'm used to, much better (purely subjective though)
The UI is Sony skinned, but it's not nasty ala Samsung Touchwhiz, it is slightly more than I'm used to, but in truth the features are thoughtful & useful, and the specs mean it doesn't lag ever, no matter what you do.
720p resolution on a 4.6 inch screen means great viewing PLUS fantastic battery life, I don't know what Sony did to this phone, but it's almost like having an old Nokia for battery, 2 days usage easily possible on moderate usage, and if you kick in the battery saving Stamina modes even more can be gained.
Bloatware isn't too bad, you can uninstall quite a bit, and some that you can't, you can disable and it won't show up in the app drawer
Did I mention its waterproof too, and if you get the magnetic charging dock you don't need to ever open up any of the sealed ports again avoiding any wear that might lead to flaps getting loose.
Stereo speakers, although with the waterproofing they're not as loud as some, I didn't find an issue with the output, but some might, cameras plenty good enough for a phone, it also has every connectivity known to man, as it should being a flagship model.
2g, 3g, 4g mobile
Wifi incl AC
wifi hotspot
GPS incl GPS-A & Glasnoss compatibility
NFC
Bluetooth 4.0
SD Card slot
USB otg
Miracast
Chromecast support out of the box
and on and on and on - just buy one, There isn't a better phone out there at the moment (assuming you don't want a phablet)
I do find it a bit amusing its called a 'compact' when it's really just normal sized.
