Thanks I knew that except I didn't know about the 2 finger swipe smile What's great about the Power Toggles is that you can add a quick settings widget bar into the single swipe down notifications area, as well as the normal multi-adjustable homepages widget.

If you use nova launcher, there is an option called gestures and swipes where you can set a number of things such as two finger swipe down, swipe up, clockwise and anti clockwise movements to do what ever you want them to.

Does that involve a change of ROM?

Changed from a Nexus 4 to a Z3 Compact recently and I'm very very pleased with the new phone.

I'm not a heavy user but right from the off with my N4 it was a complete lottery as to whether it would last a day on battery, out of wifi range. I tried everything to extend it and resolve it but in the end just hoped for the best.

On wifi it would last just over a day and a half with little use. On a mobile network it would last between 8 and 16 hours. Got so fed up of charging it, taking it off charge in the morning and then having to put it in stamina mode at around 5pm, and this was just if it was sitting in my bag during work hours.

At the moment I've got 20% left on the Z3 and it's been on battery for 4 days and 5 hours. Incredible. No difference in (very light) use.

The rest of the phone is excellent too and 4g is blisteringly quick.

Sat here bored recovering from a minor op at the weekend and now itchy for a new piece of gadge!

First look at Smart Watches. Are they all much of a muchness or will a Sony smart watch offer more features when paired with my Z3C than an LG etc?

Is there a new batch of watches out soon worth holding out for?

I've got the Smartwatch 2, and whilst I thought it would end up in a drawer, it's actually been quite useful with a built in torch, and the ability to check emails in meetings. The time is also accurate, might not sound like much but my old TAG was always 5-15 minutes fast depending on which way the wind blew, so this is a big thing for me smile

Big selling point of the SW3 if you have a Sony phone is it integrates into the LifeLog app, with steps counted, places of interest, sleep etc. The OH has the SmartBand (yes, we are sponsored by Sony) and loves it. Pretty sure SW3 has built in GPS too.

Reviews plus battery life seem reasonable.

Looks a bit dull compared with the competition.

Until I saw this version albeit at a premium.

I have the Smartwatch 3 to go with my Z3 and it's great. I don't think there is any advantage to staying with Sony ad Android Wear is pretty much stock software.

The SW3 has a couple of features I liked which swayed my thinking. It has built in GPS so I can run without a phone and it also has wifi and nfc which although they aren't usable with Android Wear yet I am hopeful this will be added soon. I hope Sony release different straps soon though as I like the look of the steel strap. Also the battery life is good and I usually have about 60-70% left at the end of the day but always put it on charge next to my phone out of habit. The screen is trans-reflective so you can still see it when the backlight is off.

Hmmm . . . given that I'm quite happy with my Polar HRM for my fitness needs and have no real need for GPS although could be useful for navigation maps I guess, it does seem as though it would only be used as a £150+ Notifications Tray. Although control of my phone's Spotify and TuneIn Radio apps might be quite handy although I have no idea how good their integration with Android Wear is atm.

I wonder what future iterations of Android Wear will serve up?

It isn't really at a stage where you need it but it does allow you to take your phone out less frequently. I use mine for running with strava any it integrates with this quite well. To be able to reply to messages from your wrist and to get directions and control music etc without looking at your phone is really handy

I didn like the change to the way Chrome tabs were handled, so have swapped it back (under settings in Chrome)
