Hi guys,

Recently joined PH and this is my first post. I'm coming to the end of my Ultima GTR build. Still a fair few bits and pieces to see to and cosmetic stuff which always seems to take up the most time. I'll try and upload a few pics over the next few days. Is there anyone local to the great barr / Sutton Coldfield area?

I may be able to attend, all depends on other commitments. I used to be a regular in the late 80's. Thanks

≥≥Hi,
The kit was delivered early 2005 and I started the build pretty much straight away, with help from my father. Things progressed well for a while then other commitments meant I could only do a bit here and there, so that's why it's taken until now to see the end in sight.

I've made frequent calls to the ever helpful factory when something wasn't quite going to plan. The one thing that caused me the biggest headache was sorting the gear linkage (RH) selecting reverse was impossible at one point.. The slightest play at any point is fatal, anyway it's sorted now.

If I were to start again or maybe build another the one thing I would do different is to get the factory to pre fit the body. It would have saved me lots of hours, headaches and bald spots.

Have a look at the pics below, your feedback and questions are appreciated.

One thing I do need to do is tune the Holley carb it will not idle on cold start, when warm it seems ok, I know the cold idle can be sorted using vacuum gauge. Has anyone done this themselves or called an expert in. The engine is a 640bhp 6.3l ( it's the one the factory used in their original record breaking car).

Regards.

Congratulations, well done.

The car is looking great but it seems like you`ve forgotten to fit the rear clip.

Have a look around, it`s usually part of the bodywork shipment ;-)

Stoneleigh is a must as your hard work will be appreciated by the vast majority there.

Plus you might get a bottle of something from the Factory......for free!

Sadly no. Still got plenty to do on it and not making much progress. When you work all day on cars the insentive to work through the evening on them is difficult.
My Ultima is sharing space in the workshop with 6 TVR's, Citroen BX, Spectre, Hillman Imp, Nova, Beauford, Striker, EVO200.
