I think i have a worn injector on my 55 plate Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 TDCI!

The car drives as it should but the idle is lumpy from cold for the first 10 seconds or so and it chucks out a bit of white smoke on a morning. It has the infamous TDCI injector tap from around 1800RPM to 3000RPM when it suddenly stops.

I'm getting roughly 40mpg which is a bit low for these cars so i've heard.

I've done some research and i've had mixed results, some are saying worn injectors and others are saying they'll just need re-coding.

so if anyone with a bit experience with this problem could give me some advice i'd be more than thankful!

I had a similar issue on my old 58 zs tdci. I just buried my head in the sand and it still worked fine. Try some Wynn's injector cleaner first to see if it helps, my mates dad puts it in a couple times a year in his zs tdci and he says it reduces the lumpyness quite a bit. I think ultimately its new injector time though.

Worth checking it's not just the injector seals first a common issue & you can easily tell by looking for carbon build up around the injectors

cheers ill give the injector cleaner a try, it cant harm it smile

i've checked the injector seals and they're all alright, they were all done 2k ago according to the history thumbup
