I take it you're talking about the DEI stuff?

If so, I'm using their Titanium spark plug boot heat shields boots and so far they work well.

I was going to use their exhaust wrap but I had a lot of other stuff in stock to use up. Next time around I imagine.

I found the guys from Nimbus Motorsport very nice and helpful about all stuff heat related.

You will be better off with a ceramic coating these do work very well, Zircotec for instance is not cheap compared to wrapping but is far superior.
Surf some of the various performance forums and there is anecdotal evidence that it doesn't reduce temps much and is not very appealing to the eye once fitted, apparently it can come loose easily.

I have used this stuff! (and it's zircotek'd )Been on a year now, and it helps a lot!

Much anecdotals about problems with wrap, but so far, it has been fine.

Only issue is not to brush up against it with your bare skin, cos it itches like crazy and takes a while before it goes away, regardless of how you scrub in the shower!

Ive used both on my Renault R5 Turbo which has heat issues that make an Ultima look tame. Much smaller engine compartment, way more heat, archaic fuel injection system with a great big turbo in the middle. The wrap was better than nothing at all, but it's no where near as good as coatings. I didn't have a infrared sensor when I just had the wrap on it but when the coating was applied you could actually feel the difference when you opened up the deck lid after a good run it was that pronounced. lee

Guess you need to wear long sleeves and gloves when working on the engine around the exhausts. Not pleasant IMO. No question, it will be coating for me.

Thanks for the comments so far . My headers are already zircon coated . My can am is really tight on space . And it's causing heat . Transfere in traffic so I'm looking to try and cut down the radiant heat hence looking at wrapping as a option to try pictures would be good

Hi Paul,

Shame you are still having some issues with heat - I have some ideas, based upon our discussions previously. Will send you a message.

Paul I would strongly suggest do not wrap an exhaust system that is coated. After I did this years ago on the Renault I noticed a bunch of "sand" accumulating in the engine compartment. I was really disappointed when I unwrapped the exhaust and most of the coating was detached from the exhaust. Lee

If anybody has any doubts about the effectiveness of the Zircotec coating then look no further than here http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI... for a recommendation.

Yeah - massive!
As I said, the headers and tubes to the centre box were all zircotec'd a while back, but although it made a difference, the difference was not enough, by a mile!
Now, the under-hood temps are very well controlled. As to any minuses, well I am sure some will tell, and maybe I will find out down the line, but frankly, this works very well for me! I am told by a drifter guy that there is some silicone paint that can be used to coat the wrap if I want, but perhaps that is a step too far!
