It's been 2 years exactly since I moved in to my flat. It's when I bought this bottle of fairy liquid and yesterday the full two years was complete and I still have some. I view this as a victory for men and sensible use of stuff. I accept I have a dishwasher and the odd girlfriend who sees the whole point of fairy liquid is to use it all in one go but the fairy liquid has outlived them all and become a dear friend. Any other similar stories would be champion.

A great victory for reasonable use of fairy liquid and for male-kind, well done.

I don't think I'm going to be able to go to bed until he confirms that he's done it. THANKS.

The gas and electric bills are £60 a quarter each smile that's with a 20 year old conventional boiler.

The Mrs has her own house.

If you mean the bit on the right, then I think that's boxing in for pipes under a boiler. Doesn't look the same to me. It should still have silicone on but I think we need to know the facts.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD OP - TELL US IS IT TILES OR BOXING IN?

I can clearly see a bead of BLACK silicone at the bottom of those tiles.

Seems to be some sort of glass splash back over hob arrangement to the left. As above basically OP, a few more pictures and info required.

Me too. On another note you could have used your fairy liquid savings for a proper butt and scribe joint a million times better then using the flashing things

yes schoolboy error.

Fairy savings no doubt negated in Detol Multisurface costs just to stop that bad boy flaring up.

It's black silicone under the tiles. From what I can recall there was some silicone under the boxing which houses some pipes but Sod's law meant I had to get to pipes cos of boiler issues. More importantly, do you not put pans and pots in with dishes. Have to accept I still don't know how to use the dishwasher effectively.

When the mrs is away, I just eat whatever's in the fridge as long as it doesn't smell horrendous. If it does smell dubious, I just give it an extra 20% cooking time then smell test again.

The mrs clears out the fridge of stuff nearing its use by date, or simply stuff that is open, every few days.

The advantage of me living on my own would therefore be lower waste, proportionately lower food bills, and more duvet days due to food poisoning.
