I beg to differ.....

This made me do a little sex wee. Gorgeous!

I agree the 2CV looks most odd with Minilites. Doesn't suit it one bit.

And the Volvo 240 is just a magnificent example of how the right wheels really enhance a car's looks.

I ran without for a number of years on my Sunbeam-Lotus because they were as rare as hens teeth back in the 1980's until the 'new' Minilite company put them back into production, and I bought a set.

They didn't fit properly into my original 1970's made magnesium Minilites, and had to modified a bit to fit.
But, IMHO, they did look better with them fitted to without.

Minilites with sharp edges? Sometimes this looks good, sometimes not

Not forgetting Audi's contribution to as near Minilites as you can get. Stonking wheels and brutally strong.

Nowhere near Minilites - wrong number of spokes for a start.

Must have been after you sold it then as it was sat in the classic dealer in Cannon Lane ind. est. for a while last year - ether that or there's a clone out there.

My A-H Sprite of old. Had to fit round wheel arches to get these on as they were 6 x 14's.

Don't be bloody silly! I didn't say they were Minilites or even copies. However the resemblance in basic design couldn't be clearer. Maybe you should have gone to Specsavers.

I've always thought of those as Audi's Miniltes. Nices wheels, seem prone to getting dirty though. My daughter has them on her Coupe.

"...as near Minilites as you can get..." you wrote but they're not. They have the wrong number of spokes, the centre is different and the spokes are a different profile - other than that, they're round so like a Minilite. Happy now?

More Minilite lookalikes:

Avon safety wheels as fitted to the (rather rare) Vauxhall Firenza HPF aka Droopsnoot.

The Chevette HS wheels look very similar but are 100mm pcd and from the US Chevrolet Vega.

Both great looking cars, particularly the HPF with looks ahead of its time.

Happy? Oh, I'm just tickled pink that you totally fail to see the similarity of the Audi wheel to a Minilite. The reality is that the Audi wheel is just as good, or even better than the Minilite in quality; the main reason I mentioned it in the first place.

I think you'll find you're in the minority with that view.

The PH pedants at their best once again. rolleyes

No more that a superficial resemblance; like the Vauxhall wheels above.
