Hello all, as per title: has anyone ever done it?

My brother has bought a CBR600RR from a friend here in the UK but has now realised that Honda are pretty much impossible to restrict to the French 106hp law due to the fact that he has to have the ECU and various expensive bits changed by an official Honda dealer and that's all close to 2000€! (I told him to check with Honda France but he didn't and for that he'll get laughed at by me for years to come but that's another story)

Anyone else had happier experience or bringing it back to the UK and selling it on really the best option?

Are they really that hard?

The rule on power disappears on 1 January 2016, but if he can't wait that long, he needs to get it restricted. With a friendly dealer you could get round it (one page of headed notepaper...) but if not, the best option is probably to sell and buy French.
