About time... one reg plate type...fixed number/letters for the driver to be transferred to every vehicle the driver has during his or her driving career...
I have EU flag on my reg plates already.... as out EU neighbours have but with GB on mine as they have their country of origin on theirs... Just need to adopt the 2 yr MOT and job will be done....
Oh..and I believe this Reg plate change... will become law as of next Wednesday.... seems our MEP's and MP's are going to caught with their pants down yet again

Don't see the problem myself.
The only people I think would have a concern are those that have paid thousands for personalised ones.
Not only those, what about owners of vintage and historic vehicles. Part of their character and history isThe only people I think would have a concern are those that have paid thousands for personalised ones.
the type/look of the number plates. Depending on age and registration the could be 'hand painted', black
with either separate raised lettering in silver or white and then the cast or pressed black and silver type.
As an aside, the 'new' MOT regulations the EU want is that 'to retain VED exemption, all vehicles should
be as they were made and first registered'. Surely if this 'number plate' idea takes root, are they not in
telling us we must change the plates be in violation of their own MOT ruling

So new cars won't be able to have personal plates fitted?
Great. So all of us with personal plates (and it's a helluva lot of peeps)stop buying new cars, so we can keep our plates. See what that does to the German car industry. Bet the idiots haven't thought of that.Stuff like this just gives Nigel Farage even more ammunition - bring on the EU elections!!!!!!

Sounds like a fine plan, shoving the Daily Wail where the sun don't shine.Definitely a better bet than believing it, at any rate.

Precisely! If you read that poisonous, truth distorting rag, what do you expect? Definitely a better bet than believing it, at any rate.

If you've got to read it at least read something non-insane to get a bit of truth and balance.
