I'm thinking about removing the cat from my car. Are there any special considerations I have to take into account. For instance is there any sensor that runs to it that will tell the engine management system that because the cat has been removed that its now running rich. If so, what do I have to do to combat this? Are there any other issues that I have to take into account? Obviously it has to be put back on for its MOT.
Cheers

On removing the "Cat" ?? I think you will find you have two (2) Cats!

When removed "they" will require cones in place of the Cats, cost depends on where you get them.

ECU, you could ignore their removal or purchase a de-cat chip, cost depends on where you get it.

Noise - are you comfortable with quite a bit more noise (very subjective) when starting/running?

Nearly there, refit them (x-2) every year for MOT?

Finally, have you really investigated why you have 2-cats and why you really want to remove them?

Happy with that ? Then remove them!!

It's your car, do what you want?

I've just run my car for a couple of weeks without the cats in. Gotta say it smells better now I have some new ones in. And I actually prefer the sound it makes now, the volume is almost the same, but the noise is 'nicer'.

Fairly sure there aren't going to be too many speed six cats that have been submitted to your sort of mileage Dom smile

Lone Star,

I've just refitted my cats and have the ACT decat pipes 'surplus' if you haven't sourced any yet. Feel free to PM me and we can thrash out a deal.
